Kenyan Drake calls out NFL following season-ending injury
Running back Kenyan Drake suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s Las Vegas Raiders loss to the Washington Football team. He was quickly ruled out, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reporting he broke his ankle.
Drake took to Twitter to complain about the hit he took that made him suffer the injury. He said the NFL needs to look at protecting more than just the league’s quarterbacks.
“The NFL needs to look at this specific style of tackling,” Drake said in a tweet on Sunday. “They are throwing flags for taunting and protecting qbs from getting touched but this is my 2nd straight season being injured by a guy pulling me back and using his body weight to roll up my legs.
“If the emphasis is to protect the players this should be an illegal form of tackling like a horse collar. We lose players weekly to high ankle sprains and broken bones but the league would rather flag players for erroneous taunting penalties. Let’s get the priorities together”
Drake was the Raiders’ second-leading rusher on the season entering the week, having 254 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs has been the main back for Las Vegas, totaling 420 yards and six touchdowns.
Without Drake, the Raiders will have to rely on Jacobs more often. Peyton Barber has also appeared in four games this season.

Raiders RB not only former Alabama player hurt on Sunday
Baltimore Ravens’ star defensive back Marlon Humphrey suffered a season-ending shoulder injury Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to be out for the rest of the 2021 season, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
It’s a significant blow to the Ravens’ secondary, as Humphrey has long been one of the best defensive backs in the league. Baltimore has suffered a number of season-ending injuries this season at a variety of positions.
Humphrey was a star in high school, at Alabama, and he’s been a star for much of his NFL career. Simply put, he’s been one of the best defensive backs in the game of football at every level he’s played.
This season, the former Alabama star had one of the more bizarre interceptions you’ll ever see against the Las Vegas Raiders when he was defending Raiders star tight end, Darren Waller, in Week 1. He intercepted the pass and didn’t even realize he had the football in his arms.
