Micah Parsons isn't worried about playing a specific position with Cowboys
Micah Parsons was drafted as a linebacker, but the Dallas Cowboys have deployed him at defensive end due to injury woes. After finding success at the position, Parsons is proving he is a terror wherever he plays.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, Parsons believes he doesn’t need a locked-in position to maker an impact.
“It really shouldn’t matter (where I play),” stated Parsons. “You look at (Jalen) Ramsey, he played outside corner. Now he’s playing nickel. If you’re a dog, you’re going to be a dog. It shouldn’t matter where you are on the field, you should have unbelievable effort and tenacity.”
Evidently, the former Penn State Nittany Lions star doesn’t believe he should be boxed in. Wherever he plays, he’s going to show why he was a first-round talent.
On Monday night, Parsons had his third straight solid game to open up his career. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, Parsons totaled four tackles — adding a half-sack to his resume.
Additionally, Machota asked Parsons about where he’d be playing this weekend against the Carolina Panthers. Of course, he didn’t want to give too much away.
“Man, I can’t give that stuff away,” said Parsons. “I want the Panthers to be on edge.”
During the draft, the Panthers passed on Parsons in-favor of quarterback Jaycee Horn. However, Parsons holds no ill-will towards the organization — he’s just happy it landed him in Dallas.
“I guess I wasn’t their guy,” Parsons said. “It’s OK. I’m where I need to be.”
If Parsons has another great performance on Sunday, the Panthers may begin to regret their decision.

Jerry Jones on Parsons: ‘He’s as pure as mother’s milk’
While Cowboys fans are elated with Parsons, the team’s owner is just as ecstatic. However, he has an interesting way of describing his affinity with his rookie defensive star.
“He’s as pure as mother’s milk,” stated Jones. “He just basically steps out there and gives you everything he’s got. Nature gave him skills and, boy, does he know how to use them.”
Well, that’s definitely a new one. Perhaps Parsons can bring back the famous Got Milk? campaign following Jones’ comments.
Parsons has been described in a lot of ways, but ‘pure as mother’s milk’ has to be a new one for him. The Cowboys rookie took to twitter to let everyone know his thoughts on Jones’ hilarious comment.
“I never heard this one before,” Parsons tweeted, prefaced with a bevy of laughing-face emojis.
Pure as mother’s milk. Linebacker. Defensive end. While Micah Parsons is already wearing a lot of hats early in his NFL career, he may gain one more if he continues his impressive play — the NFL Rookie of the Year.
