New York Giants make starting quarterback decision on Jake Fromm
The New York Giants are giving Jake Fromm his opportunity on Sunday. As the team travels to Philadelphia to take on their heated rival, Fromm will be their starting quarterback against the Eagles.
“Giants’ QB Jake Fromm will make his first NFL start today against the Eagles, per sources,” tweeted ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
After a successful college career with Georgia, the former Bulldogs quarterback has had an uneven start to his NFL career. After falling in the NFL Draft, Fromm was buried on the depth chart of the Buffalo Bills. Then, while dealing with the loss of quarterback Daniel Jones, the Giants brought Fromm to New York City.
After a couple of ugly Mike Glennon starts, the Giants gave Fromm some burn at the end of their loss against the Dallas Cowboys. On one drive, the 23-year old quarterback showed poise and accuracy — completing six passes for 82 yards.
While Fromm isn’t expected to go out there and prove he’s a franchise quarterback, he can change his NFL future over the final three games for the Giants. Time will tell if Jake Fromm goes back to being a backup, or looks to follow in the footsteps of Kurt Warner, Matt Cassel and other former afterthoughts.

More on Jake Fromm, Giants
As Jake Fromm’s future remains in doubt, so is the future of the Giants’ quarterback position. With a new general manager on the horizon for New York, many are wondering who will be under center for the Giants in 2022.
Daniel Jones will likely be back, but his leash will be extraordinarily short. If they want to swing big, rumors have it that Russell Wilson would be interested in New York. Finally, perhaps Kenny Pickett or Matt Corral will interest the Giants in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Jake Fromm wants to throw his name in the ring. Whether it’s in New York or with a different franchise, the former Georgia star can change the projections of his NFL career with a great end to the season.
