NFL MVP voting breakdown revealed

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took home his second consecutive NFL MVP award on Thursday night, marking his fourth MVP award and bringing him within one of tying Peyton Manning’s record of five.
Shortly after Rodgers won the award, the NFL released the full voting distribution for the 2021 MVP award, and it wasn’t particularly close.
Rodgers won the award in somewhat of a blowout, receiving 39 MVP votes. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who recently announced his retirement, came in second place with 10 votes, and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp received the one remaining vote.
Aaron Rodgers comments on future in Green Bay after winning MVP
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won his second straight NFL MVP award on Thursday, and much like last year’s award, Rodgers took home the 2022 trophy as he faces an offseason of uncertainty.
It remains completely unclear if Rodgers will remain with Green Bay, as he has one option year left on the four-year deal he signed back in 2018. Rodgers has given little to no indication on where he’s leaning, but he was asked about it following his MVP win on Thursday night.
“I have not made any decision yet,” Rodgers said, via Adam Schefter.
However, according to NFL Network’s Taylor Bisciotti, the answer isn’t as dark as Schefter made it out to be. According to Rodgers, he’s had some decent talks with the Green Bay Packers so far — something he was not able to say even a year ago.
“I’ve got a lot of decisions to make (about next year) but I’ve had some good conversations with the Packers recently,” Rodgers said, per Bisciotti.

Rodgers, 37, infamously staged a holdout from Green Bay Packers training camp last offseason — just one year after winning the 2020 MVP award — because he did not get the extension or trade he asked for, per ESPN.
This past season, Rodgers threw for 4,115 yards and ranked third in the NFL with a 68.9% completion percentage. He also had threw for a league-low four interceptions and 37 touchdowns — giving him one of the best touchdown-to-interception ratios of the year.
Despite back-to-back MVP awards, Rodgers’ future in Green Bay remains in doubt as he weighs his options. Prior to this season, even after winning his third MVP award, Rodgers didn’t report to training camp on time and questions remained as to whether or not he’d suit up for the Packers. He did, and now fans wait to see what he decides to do for the 2022 season.
Green Bay went 13-4 this season to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC. At the time, Rodgers’ Green Bay team was a Super Bowl favorite, and for good reason. However, for the second consecutive year, the Packers fell short of the ultimate game via an unceremonious first-round exit, this time courtesy of the San Francisco 49ers.
Now, heading into the offseason, Rodgers could very well find himself out of Green Bay in the 2023 NFL season, unless the Packers can help put together a contract that satisfies his needs
