Injured Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts should be back after the Week 14 bye week, according to Jay Glazer. The second-year Eagle is rehabbing a high ankle sprain and had to miss the game versus the Jets.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni also confirmed that the team is hopeful for Jalen Hurts returning in Week 15 versus the Washington Football Team.

“I don’t want to put timetables on anybody because, again, you’ve just got to see how the body heals and the body reacts to everything,” Sirianni said. “But I would think so. The bye’s coming at the right time for us. We got to get a lot of guys back to peak performance.”

Hurts is 211-of-351 for 2,435 yards with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions so far this season. He has also run for 695 yards and eight touchdowns on 122 carries. Hurts ranks 13th in the NFL in rushing yards.

Eagles sticking with Hurts

Philadelphia has been non-committal about Jalen Hurts this season but there’s no question about his current status. Hurts sat in favor of a healthy Gardiner Minshew on Sunday, but Nick Sirianni sees the former Oklahoma and Alabama quarterback slotting back into his role next week.

“Yeah, of course. I think he has played really good football,” Sirianni said. “I think there have been times when he has been one of the best in the league with the way he has moved around, made plays. We look at that quarterback rating and what he’s had there, and so he’s played really good football when he’s in, so when he’s healthy and he’s back, he’ll be our starter.”

Versus the Jets, Gardiner Minshew went 20-for-25 for 242 passing yards and two touchdowns. He led the Eagles to a 33-18 win but he’ll head back to the bench, as long as Hurts’ injury heals up as planned.
