Jacksonville backed up the Brink’s truck for Christian Kirk. It was announced that the former Texas A&M star signed a gigantic deal with the Jaguars, but even Kirk‘s biggest supporters never believed he would become the third highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Kirk could wind up making $21 million per year with the franchise.

“Jaguars are giving former Cardinals WR Christian Kirk a four-year deal worth up to $84 million deal, per source,” revealed Schefter.

As you can see, the former Texas A&M star is receiving huge money. Additionally, Schefter’s ESPN colleague, Field Yates, put the deal in perspective.

“That maximum value of $21M per year makes Christian Kirk the 3rd highest paid WR in the NFL,” tweeted Yates.

Moreover, the gigantic deal shocked the football world. While Kirk is immensely talented, the former Aggies star hasn’t put it all together with the Arizona Cardinals. Nevertheless, teams over-pay in free agency — and Kirk is young a versatile. Now, he’s being paid like the top wide receiver on the Jaguars.

A highly-touted recruit out of Scottsdale, Arizona, Kirk was a five-star prospect, according to On3 Consensus. His talent is mesmerizing, but now the former second-round selection needs to rise to the occasion. Time will tell if Christian Kirk can reach his full potential, or Jacksonville looks foolish for their spending.

More on Christian Kirk, Jacksonville Jaguars

A second round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, Kirk never materialized into the star wide receiver the franchise expected. Still, Kirk is a former five-star prospect per On3 Consensus — Jacksonville is betting on his talent.

During his three seasons with the Aggies, Kirk accumulated 234 receptions, 2,856 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns. In four seasons with the Cardinals, the former Texas A&M star amassed 236 receptions, 2,902 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.

Now, Christian Kirk will be tasked with helping Trevor Lawrence ascend to the heights he’s expected. The duo will have dreams of capturing AFC South titles for seasons to come.
