Last season, Keanu Neal joined the Cowboys and Dan Quinn decided to use the former safety as a linebacker. The former first rounder had a solid season in his lone season with Dallas, accumulating 72 total tackles and a sack for the Cowboys. However, he’s one-and-done as a linebacker in the NFL.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Neal is deciding to return to safety as he hits free agency.

“#Cowboys free agent and former 1st round pick Keanu Neal, who played linebacker for Dan Quinn last year, source said, is switching back to his old safety spot as he looks to reestablish himself as one of the top players at his position when he lands with his new team,” tweeted Rapoport.

In five seasons prior to Dallas, the former Florida star was a force in the Atlanta Falcons secondary. Over his time as a safety, Neal amassed eight forced fumbles, two interceptions and 16 pass deflections. Now, Keanu Neal be looking to recapture the success he had at safety with whatever team decides to sign him.

Randy Gregory takes shots at Cowboys ownership, ‘toxic fanbase’

In other former Cowboys news, Randy Gregory spurned Dallas in-favor of signing with the Denver Broncos in one of the more shocking decisions of the NFL offseason. Now, the former Dallas star is making his true thoughts on the Cowboys known on Twitter.

First, Gregory responded to a fan in a since-deleted Tweet where he took a shot at the Dallas ownership and front office. Luckily, Ari Meirov of Pro Football Focus was able to capture it while it was available.

“Your owners acted in bad faith all free agency,” tweeted Gregory. “They’ve been awfully quiet lately huh? Wonder why lol. Can’t wait for you guys to ask them the same questions!”

After being ready to return to Dallas, changes to the language of the contract led to Gregory killing the deal with the Cowboys. Additionally, Gregory responded to a fan who said he sounded upset, taking a shot at the Dallas fanbase as a whole with his words.

“Nah that’s your toxic fan base that believe I owe them and their team something lol,” tweeted Gregory.

As if that wasn’t enough to burn a bridge for a potential return to Dallas in the future, Gregory gave a simple answer when asked if he wanted to return to the Cowboys in the future.

“Hell nah,” Gregory tweeted.

In the meantime, Gregory has been praising the Broncos — seemingly elated to be in Denver. The Cowboys invested a decent amount of time and money in the former Nebraska star. However, their relationship with Randy Gregory is obviously sour now.
