WATCH: Clyde Edwards-Helaire shakes off would-be tackle for touchdown
Kansas City running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire wasn’t going to be denied on this touchdown run early against Pittsburgh. With the Chiefs inside the five, Edwards-Helaire appeared to be stood up behind the line of scrimmage.
However, Clyde Edwards-Helaire bounced off of the hard hit like it was nothing and made his way into the end zone for the touchdown. It was the first score of the game for either team.
Things continued to go the way of the Chiefs even after the touchdown. When the Steelers got the ball back, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw an interception on the first play of the drive.
With around a minute left to go in the first quarter, Kansas City scored again to take a 14-0 lead against the Steelers. Edwards-Helaire so far had five carries for 11 yards and the touchdown.
A 2020 first round pick out of LSU, the running back put up impressive numbers in his rookie season. He finished with 1,100 yards from scrimmage to go with five total touchdown. This season, he so far has 615 yards from scrimmage. The touchdown from Clyde Edwards-Helaire on Sunday helped him surpass his total from last season, as he now has six.

The Chiefs entered Sunday at 10-4, which was good for the top seed in the AFC. The Steelers (7-6-1) are fighting for their playoff lives. They are currently the last team in, but a loss to Kansas City would allow Baltimore to move ahead of them.
After a shocking 3-4 start to the season, the Chiefs have been on a tear of late. They have won seven straight contests to put themselves back among the Super Bowl contenders. Kansas City has made back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, winning in 2020.
They will look to make it eight straight victories by hanging on to defeat Pittsburgh this week. The Chiefs are without tight end Travis Kelce, so they may lean more on Clyde Edwards-Helaire and others than usual to score a touchdown.
