One of the biggest questions of the offseason — what would’ve happened if Tom Brady’s Lombardi Trophy toss went haywire?

During the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl boat parade, Brady made headlines multiple times. While on the water, Brady tossed the Lombardi Trophy to tight end Cameron Brate — who was across the water on another boat.

While the trophy made it to Brate without a scratch, many wondered if the Buccaneers’ second Lombardi would’ve been lost forever. Fortunately, Randy Moss demonstrated what would’ve happened if the trophy hit the water.

The Lombardi Trophy floats! While it may have needed to be wiped down, the trophy wouldn’t have been lost forever if Brady misfired. The questions can finally be put to bed.

As usual, Brady can rely on Moss to be there for him. After unparalleled success as teammates on the New England Patriots, Moss was there for his quarterback again today.

“First of all, I was not thinking at that moment.”

Earlier this year, Brady opened up about the trophy throw on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

“First of all, I was not thinking at that moment. It was not a thought,” Brady said on the show. “It was, ‘This seems really fun to do. Not to mention, when you get your hands on one of those trophies, there’s a lot of really sharp edges on the bottom. … I found out later, had that been an incomplete pass, that would have went down like 80 feet. I’m so happy that (tight end) Cam (Brate caught it).”

Additionally, Brady mentioned that his 8-year old daughter, Vivi, was distraught when he threw the trophy.

“Who could imagine that an 8-year-old girl would have the most sense of anybody in that whole area?” said Brady. “I mean, she’s the voice of reason. Go figure.”

No harm, no foul. At least Brady can take solace in the fact that the Lombardi Trophy wouldn’t have been lost forever if he threw an incomplete pass.
