I often wonder about former players with CTE. It seems there are some current players who's actions on the field would make it appear that they will have it. I am guessing there is no way to diagnose while the player is alive? What about some of these older players who are still announcing games or who are still out in the media type places? Like Bradshaw, Howie Long, Stahan, Aikmen, Matt Millen, Jack Ham, etc. Why does effect some in bad ways but not others? I guess I need to read some medical papers on it to understand better but these are the questions I have after reading articles like this. 52 is way to young to go and after a fall in your own house too(I think that is how Mikala Shiffrin's dad died as well after a fall-not CTE-but a fall. As I get older I think I can still do the things around my house at 58 that I could do in my 30s and we all should just be aware that we aren't as nimble as we used to be. Think twice before going up that ladder at your age!!
