Longtime Iowa AD Barta announces retirement

Longtime University of Iowa athletic director Gary Barta has announced his retirement, effective Aug. 1. Barta, 59, has been the athletic director at Iowa for 17 years.

I hope so. Daddy benefits from playing in the weak western division and was destroyed two years ago in the CCG. You'd think he'd have won something significant in the past two decades or so to deserve his status in Iowa City. Junior is in way over his head as OC so I hope he sticks around awhile. Daddy is doing his best to keep Junior from joining the unemployment line.
