This is an issue. My hand size is 8.5”. I, once upon a time, had a pretty strong throw. My biggest drawback, when throwing, was the size of the ball. Really tough to grip an NFL size ball. I really hope he doesn’t end up with my Steelers.

Pickett will do fine in the NFL as long as the team that picks him plays Detroit every week. Pickett's statistics last season were totally the product of playing a cupcake schedule. Clifford would be touted as a first round pick if Penn State played last year's pitt schedule.

How big are Clifford’s hands?

Isn't the NFL ball a little larger in diameter than the college ball? I remember Tony Sacca back in the day saying he had trouble adjusting to the NFL ball. I'm not sure if it was a hand size issue with Sacca or not.

Yes it's bigger. All you have to do is take a little bit of air out of the ball and you can grip it just fine. 😉

A concern I have read about pickett and his small hands (cabbage aside) is playing in cold weather, which I presume could be related to throwing, not just fumbling. Also, I saw no analysis in the above article of fumble rate as a function of weather. Admittedly, that may be difficult to assess.
The fumble rate as a function of weather, is exponential in nature.

See what I did there?

They don't call him "Kenny Two Gloves" for nothing. Why else does a QB wear a glove on his throwing hand? It's obviously for a better grip. As I stated in the past, I hope the best for Kenny Pickett. But I think his hand size is a legitimate concern.
