This is what we’re up against.

See the link below. From the article:

Rutgers coach Greg Schiano, the school's all-time coaching wins leader in his second stint with the team, has received a contract extension through the 2030 season.

Schiano, 57, is finishing the fourth year of his second term at Rutgers after leading the program to prominence from 2001 to 2011. He's 86-95 overall with the Scarlet Knights, who are set to face Miami in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 28 at New York's Yankee Stadium.

Rutgers brought back Schiano after the 2019 season and gave him an eight-year, $32 million contract. He will earn $6.25 million in 2024 under the new agreement. Rutgers began the season 6-2 before dropping its final four games, but still produced 13 All-Big Ten players, the second-highest total in team history.”

IMHO he is a solid if not good coach and is probably the best Rutgers can get for their program
And that is probably the real truth. Can you imagine the day that Kirk Ferentz is finally pushed out the door at Iowa. Who in the world will Iowa attract to coach their football team being in the middle of corn county and fighting recruits against the rest of the new BIg 10 West?

If Schiano wasn't stained by his association with PSU/Joepa Rutgers wouldn't be able to get him...Glad to see Schiano has the job.

Around 7 million reasons, someone will be going to Iowa City. Seems like the best OC/DCs are around $2 mill, that's a nice raise.

Conspiracy theory: Kirk will try to hang around long enough to see Brian graduate from the Saban School of Rehabilitated Coaches or some such, then maneuver to have I0wa hire BF as HC.

Write it down in ink, people.

Proof that James Franklin is deserving of a new contract. Schiano gets 6.7 M for 6-6?
In other words, if another school makes a dumb decision, it is ample rationale for PSU to make a dumb one.. Not to worry, PSU requires no assistance in that vein.

Ordinarily I would say no way, but who knows what the Belichick connection might accomplish.

Good for him. His new problem is going to be recruiting the kids that are now going to be heavily recruited by Syracuse. They put together a staff that's going to give him fits in NJ recruiting.

Not to worry, RutgersAl says Greg has them on the cusp of National Recruiting that will dwarf the efforts of OSU, UM and PSU.

We always thought his name handle meant Rutgers AL when in fact it was Rutgers AI all along writing those posts. Rutgers is so far ahead of all the other schools they had AI way before anyone else. 🤯

It's only a dumb decision in your opinion. There must be a reason the Rutgers brass didn't consult you. What could that be?

You mean the brass that run a $75mm annual deficit, have borrowed nearly a quarter of of bil to run their department, on top of the $400/student/year assessment. I'm sure the ROI on Buffy's salary is stupendous. BadBoy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl here we come.

They claim they have no NIL money. They don’t have the money to build a new field house. Yet they can give an extension and a raise to a guy with a lifetime losing record. The hilarious part is that they are always negotiating with themselves regarding Schiano. They left hand repeatedly raising what the right hand offers.

Nobody is beating the door down to steal Schaino. And he’d be a fool to leave as long as RU faithful still wet their pants remembering that fateful night in 2008 or 09 when they upset No 3 ranked Louisville. His seat will never get warm because delusional RU fan’s disconnected the electricity.

Funny how no one knows what they are doing with the exception of the BWICAC.
Looks like a passing grade for you on the final before Christmas break.
