NATIONAL. SEARCH. o_O

See the link below. From the article:

”UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State has launched a national search for the next vice president for development and alumni relations. A member of the senior leadership team, this position reports directly to the president and is charged with strategically leading the University’s advancement with frontline fundraising, alumni relations, event planning, major gift cultivation, corporate and foundation relations and more.

This role manages a budget of more than $67 million and leads nearly 600 full-time professional staff members in the Penn State Alumni Association and the Office of University Development, engaging with the University’s more than 775,000 living alumni and friends to further the University’s land-grant mission.“

And,

”The vice president for development and alumni relations will be charged with strengthening the University’s focus on and ability to raise principal gifts by identifying and working with prospects, while also expanding the University’s community of support by building meaningful and enduring relationships with those prospects and existing Penn State donors. The successful candidate will be creative, strategic and visionary as they lead the development and alumni relations operation in new directions, using contemporary theory and best practices.”

On the plus side, Pat Kraft and Lydell Sargeant are on the search advisory committee. 😀

Ahem. Irving’s. Interview over scones and lattes.

Candidate: “I’ll have a large soy vanilla latte, two Splenda, a dash of cinnamon, and extra foam. And a blueberry scone, warmed.”

Neeli: “You’re hired!”
Candidate: “Gimme a dozen Cajun with a side of Cajun, and a Stella! And get that chick with the big melons over there a Yuengling on me!” Kraft: Hire this guy!”

So he's going to be the guy responsible for all the junk mail, emails, texts, phone calls, billboards, social media ads that beg you to part with your hard-earned money to give it to a guy who is making more in one week than you can in five years? Hire the guy who is willing to work for minimum wage and set the example for all the other BOT and staff Admins in Old Main to follow....
