Saw a mock draft somewhere that had the Dolphins taking a TE. Not that I put much stock in those, but it doesn’t seem like Mikey G will stick in MiamiDoes Gesicki stick in Miami? The announcers were just discussing how Gesicki has been targeted far less this season than in prior years (26 receptions versus 73 last season). They said a couple of times that the Dolphins are figuring out how to make the best use of Gesicki in their new system (under first-year coach Mike McDaniel). I guess throwing to him regularly is not in the plan.
Not feeling it , and McDaniel forget him in the passing game plan, don't blame him actually.
He's from the Shanahan coaching tree. TE's need to block first. George Kittle has made an art form out of it.The Dolphins have Hill and Waddle, but Gesicki is still a weapon downfield. Maybe that’s not how McDaniel wants to use a tight end. If he’s looking for a blocker, it isn’t Gesicki.
Someone mention Mike’s wife (and fellow Penn Stater) Halle? No? Ok….
According to PFF, Gesicki is Miami's 3rd best blocker.......At Tight End.The Dolphins have Hill and Waddle, but Gesicki is still a weapon downfield. Maybe that’s not how McDaniel wants to use a tight end. If he’s looking for a blocker, it isn’t Gesicki.
I think he has been considered one of the top pass catching TEs in the NFL. Not sure what teams like that mold. Not Miami now. Arizona?According to PFF, Gesicki is Miami's 3rd best blocker.......At Tight End.
Smyth is their best blocker in both passing and running by a mile.
With a guy who has 1600 yards and another who is averaging 18 YPC, I knew Gesicki targets would be cut, but I thought they would get him involved somehow, but haven't.
McDaniel wants to throw down field and needs his TE to block, that is not Gesicki's thing. With TE now being seldom used more and more, I just don't know where he will go. Someone will pick him up, but he may go like Jesse James and just basically disappear. Detroit maybe, even thought they drafted a TE they are high on? Maybe Jacksonville? But Engram is having a decent season.

Wherever Sean Payton ends up would be a good fit for MG. He's a modern day Jimmy Graham.According to PFF, Gesicki is Miami's 3rd best blocker.......At Tight End.

So Texans or broncosWherever Sean Payton ends up would be a good fit for MG. He's a modern day Jimmy Graham.
Or the Cowboys if they don't win a playoff game.So Texans or broncos

Kelce, Kittle, Andrews are the top.
