Would rather have a loss or 2 entering the tournament so the players can just play basketball instead of being weighed down with "can you go undefeated?" We tried that one last year and it ended with a thud.

The only thing that matters is winning the title this year, that's the standard those ladies are at now. And if they were to play and crush Iowa in the tournament along the way, even better!

Agreed. I'm sure a loss last night would have benefitted us in the long run. That said, you are certainly not going try to lose a game. With Kitts and others on the bench down the stretch, i thought maybe D.S. was going for the L.

Kitts was getting pushed around and Morrow was scoring at will. Great move to play Watkins in the 4th.

A loss right before the conference tournament would be good timing. That would get them in more of a fighting mindset going into postseason.

I don’t know. I think the team needed to prove it could fight back. We led 2-0, then didn’t lead again until a couple of minutes left in the game. We really needed to win one like that.

It is never good to lose. John Wooden would certainly agree with that sentiment as he had 4 undefeated teams. Auriemma has 6. That is a loser's mentality! If you are a great team then you go ahead and win them all. Last year's team had weaknesses and Iowa exploited them. Hopefully the girls don't have your mindset and instead look at going undefeated as a challenge instead of feeling like they are "weighed" down. I get what you are saying but just don't agree....

Can't compare what happened last year to what's going to happen this year. Different team and different skill sets. We're much more balanced. No team is going to double-triple Cardoso like they did Aliyah. Even if Aliyah was on this year's team, they couldn't do that. We actually have multiple 3 point threats that we were lacking last year. They can't shut all of them down.

Little concerned about the post next year. Cardoza does a great job of enforcing the middle and rebounds. Our guards this year have been fun to watch.
