I know we have a lot or repairs to the stadium including improved amenities and facilities. I think the repair issues are obvious.

Is the only way we can get these repairs by reducing the capacity by 10-15,000? it would be nice if we can keep the atmosphere and still get the needed repairs. i know the ship has sailed, but losing the current atmosphere seems like a lot to lose.

This is just the start of Neeli’s right-sizing campaign for Penn State. Getting those costs under control. 😀

Is going to be reduced that much. I was under the impression it was only a couple thousand.

i thought the architect rendering and presentations showed 95-98,000 net capacity - down 10-15k. I know that Kraft indicated he wanted to see it stay at least 100k. i know they indicated it was hard to meet all the objectives without reducing capacity around 10%. obviously, we need the repairs.

We better end up with an in stadium casino, 14 Starbucks, ( that’s for you) a beer garden in the end zone next to the student section, and a Walmart Superstore. Otherwise we’ve been scammed again.

There is no "architect rendering" despite Kraft saying there have been nineteen (or twelve, depending on what day it is) studies. why do you think he went to the board for $70mm?

So back to the question. Regardless of the capacity (and added amenities), PSU is going to charge more, a lot more, for tickets. They learned their lesson from tuition charges.

The Beav needs a WaWa- with fuel tanks. We can drive our cars up and down the ramps to get fuel and hoagies.

And EV charging stations for all of our well-heeled Tesla drivers.
That is an obvious requirement. But also need charging stations for BMWs. As a connoisseur of yuppie drinks like Starbucks lattes you should know these things.

OK. Thanks for that correction.

Is it that we WANT a smaller stadium, or is it that the average American’s rear-end girth in 2023 + bench seating laid out decades ago = we NEED to decrease capacity?

And yes, I am totally throwing stones from within a glass house here. :)

FWIW: I think we can all safely assume that any reduction in capacity will do absolutely nothing to increase seating width of the bleachers.

Yes you’re probably right… but would we be replacing SOME bleacher seats with chair backs, which would do that implicitly?

I thought that might have been part of the plan, but I realize now I may have completely dreamt up that notion in my head, lol

I vote for a monorail from the lots to the Beav or perhaps a nice sky ride!

Or if we go the cheap route, zip lines from the stadium to lots, at least.

Ah yes, and drunk students could experience the joy of passing out on the monorail and riding it until 1 AM, as a fraternity brother of mine did on the Loop bus in the early 90s… good times

My best guess is you WILL see that - on a very limited basis.

Sweet words "beer garden" .....

Haven't heard the term used since the early 60's as I delivered newspapers to every "beer garden" on Main Street in Edwardsville, PA.

a decade later, the "teetotaler' Agnas came along and flooded the majority of the saloons along Main Street.

Can we at least get parking lot egress that doesn’t leave you stuck in a lot until 2:30 am post a night game????
or maybe at least have those directing traffic actually direct traffic (foot and car)
