USM as a Top 8 is not gonna happen. It would be awesome since us and the OM are down, but no how, no way.

As a Southern Miss fan, I would take that draw all day. Could State come into Hattiesburg and win? Sure, it wasn’t too long ago that happened. But USM is built different this year. We’ve got 2 legit aces, third and fourth starters who are good C-USA quality pitchers (think Walker Powell), and a strong bullpen.

With that said, my PTSD from the 2017 regional is kicking in, gotta go.

Southern Miss has good pitching depth which is never a bad thing. The chances are real good that the Eagles advance to the Super Regionals.

Getting shipped way the hell out west would probably be the best thing that could happen to this team in the post season. Would suck for most fans, but probably give us a better chance at getting to the CWS.
