I can’t be happy. Last week I was pissed that we are not ranked. Now I’m worried that we may lose that chip on our shoulder that has us playing so well.🤣🤪🤓🤔😂
Sounds like you, like me, have have been a Gamecock fan for a long time. Yep, I won't be surprised a bit to see us fall on our face the next time out. If so, my first thought will be "this is why we can't have nice things". :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

We've all been waiting for this news we got today. Our coach is proving his ability, the players have clearly bought into
his system and they've had some wins we wouldn't have expected coming in this season.

I'm comfortable with what we're doing because we're showing progress game by game.

Let it ride. If we're targets that's a good thing.

I don't think our coach would even contemplate a move now.

I always responded best with praise during my career. Being ranked 15th is high praise. Hopefully our players will respond appropriately.

It WOULD be the most Gamecock thing ever to finally get recognition and then lose our immediate next game at home. This is why I would’ve preferred an incremental bump last week to around 22 or 23 and then another bump in this week’s poll. A big jump in one poll makes me leery.

Relying on Paris to keep them focused.

Yep. We learned that the team plays well with a chip on their shoulder. Now can they play well with a target on their backs?
Well, they can still play with a chip on their shoulder since we are 38th in the NET rankings, the most important ranking system when it comes to NCAA tournament seeding.

Yes, yes it would. Of course, it would also have been the most Gamecock thing ever to beat UT in Knoxville and follow it up with a loss in Athens to stay out of the poll altogether. Anything can happen, but this team is trending away from the Gamecock norm, I think.

Why am I not surprised to see more negative comments about the MBB team from you.

I wish I could say I was shocked.

Ole Miss is a much better team than people thought they would be, as well. I would only say this would be a negative if we lose to both Ole Miss and Vandy this week.

If we lose to Ole Miss, it's okay. We can't lose to Vandy. That would definitely do some damage in the eyes of the doubters.

I hope maybe LP can give them a chip on their shoulders about the Coaches Poll. That's more of a slap in the face, honestly.

Teaching moment. Can we handle prosperity?

It certainly required a change in coaching tactics. From what I've seen of Lamont, I'm not worried about him being up to the task. Some teams achieve a good ranking and lose focus and lose that hunter mindset. Lamont said something after the Tennessee win: "They want to win badly as a group. And I say that as if that's the assumption that everyone should make with every team. That's not. In 2024, that's not the assumption."

That tells me he has this team focused on the goal.

On ESPN.com today it shows us as one of the teams on "bubble watch." The ESPN writers must still think we're going to drop out of contention any day now.
