That is completely unacceptable.

I sat by a number of people (which I did not know) that all agreed Polk and the team have given up, as evidenced by the fact that our errors almost equaled our hits.

We looked pathetic today. Absolutely awful. I have never seen a baseball team look that bad.

You may have "built" baseball in the SEC, but that was the 80s my man. You are Skip Bertman's ***** forever more. And in a few short seasons back at MSU, you have been passed by the rest of the SEC as your career sinks further down the *******. You could have stepped down in glory while your overachieving team went 2 and out in Omaha yet you continue to kid yourself and now you'll have your first losing season to look back on as your final curtain call in college baseball.

I hope they DO take your name off the stadium because after this **** you are pulling right now, your name is not worthy of adorning a the MSU softball field.

Personally, I think the attitude of the team is killing us moreso than any talent differential ... guys hanging heads, nobody "talking it up", no bouncing back from a bad play or bad inning, just a snapshot of apathy out there.

*Attending the last two games has been a strange experience. I've never seen so little pride in MSU baseball, especially from the players.

And to whoever said that we miss Mitch Moreland's leadership (or any everyday player's leadership) - you were spot on.

I can't tell you how much better life is, if you simply don't give a ****. I quit giving a **** about our baseball program several years ago. Oh, I got excited last year with the CWS hoopla...but the bottom line is, I don't give a rats *** if we win 3-2...or lose 16-0.

our fans are doing what ole miss did in football for the northwestern state game. They are just not showing up. Nothing is louder in a 10,000 sear stadium than an empty seat. Byrne knows that if he hires Raffo, it'll be more of the same from the fans. He won't make that money mistake. If we brought Cohen or an energetic coach, could you imagine the excitement and ticket sales that would draw? Hiring Raffo, I would feel exactly about our program as I do now.

And just think, had he left last year after our trip to Omaha, his legacy would have been secure.

I guess this is one time where winning (and getting to Omaha) really did hurt us in the long run.

than turning this season around. If he wants to salvage some dignity he needs to forego the rest of the season and hand the reigns to Raffo so he gets his shot. This would also send a message to the team that he is willing to give up his farewell tour in an effort to give them a better chance at righting the ship this season.
