While cleaning out a drawer I came across this information and since 1994 is being mentioned:
It's in my wife's handwriting so if it's wrong blame her.

- Of 78 scoring drives PSU scored in 3:00 minutes or less 55 times
- Of those 55, 39 occurred in 2:00 minutes or less
- Of those 55, 21 occurred in 1:00 minute or less
- Average time of 78 scoring drives is 2:14 (I find this one amazing)
- Five of six scoring drives vs NW consumed 1:53 or less
- Eight of Nine scoring drives vs MSU consumed 2:54 or less
- PSU scored on 56 of 60 drives at or inside the 20 yard line
- Of those 56, 48 were touchdowns and 8 were field goals
- PSU scored in 47 of 47 trips to the red zone in their last 9 games
- The defense forced 23 turnovers resulting in 5 touchdowns (6 on the first play) and 3 field goals.
- 12 defensive players missed a total of 40 games due to injuries

Hard to believe we will ever see the likes of that again.

Amd people criticize that 1994 defense, but take a look at those 1st half scores before so many players were injured.

35-3 vs Minnesota
35-0 vs USC
45-7 vs Iowa
35-0 vs Ohio State

Granted that scores vs Rutgers and Temple were not so lopsided at the half, but that might have been due to "playing down to the opponent." The 4 teams above were considerably more talented than either RU or Temple.

Kijana Carter played in the equivalent of 9.5 games of 12 due to a hand injury and these ridiculous scores.

Ran for 1,539 yards, 7.8 ypc and scored 23 TDs.

Even more amazing; we had 3 tailbacks (that's not counting JT Morris who looked awesome in mopup time) and 3 fullbacks (I know, what's that?) who could play first platoon offense at any given time.

JT left the program before the Blockbuster Bowl in 1992 IIRC. I only see stats for him in 91 & 92.

I'm just impressed that your wife has handwritten football stats.
