Both us and Clemson entered the matchup needing a win to go bowling. We won and then beat WVU for our first ever bowl win.

I think this is the last time we met with both teams needing a win for bowl eligibility, could be wrong though. It's the last one I remember. Has there been one?

Another one prior was 1985, the year after black magic, we were 5-5 and Clemson was 5-5, and Clemson won 24-17 in Columbia, to go the Independence bowl which they lost to Minnesota and finished 6-6.

Which game on the Clemtech schedule are you calling their 5th win?

I wouldn't be shocked if they won either of their final 3 games. Or lost them all. With Tech's win over UNC, it raises the question if that makes Tech a tougher win for Clemson or if it makes UNC an easier win for Clemson.

It would be quite something if we managed to win out (unlikely) and entered with 5 wins but Clemson came in with 4 wins and was simply playing spoiler for us.

3 games at home gives them the edge but a loss to ND for a third straight may send them deeper into a rut and set them up for NC and GT who will give their secondary some trouble.
