What would happen if, for some reason, MState gets into the SEC baseball tournament, wins the thing, and as a reward gets sent to Corvallis, Oregon or Austin, TX? Polkie Sherrill might just change his mind about retiring and our new AD would get stuck with a major problem from day one.

but the worse this team finishes, the less chance we have of winding up with Raffo. So, for once, the losing doesn't bother me in the least this year. I'm not actually going so far as to hope we lose, but I'm not at all pissed off that it's happening over and over.

we are hitting .251, scoring 3.11 runs/game, and we have hit 4, count em 4 home runs.

And our first baseman is 4 for 30.

We have been outscored 61-28.

And in all games, we have hit into 38 double plays with second place being 21.

Those are some amazingly atrocious numbers.

I have absolutely no desire to drive to Starkville and watch us play. I can't even bring myself to watch us on TV or listen to much of Jim.</p>

Ok, this is an inside joke. CB9 made the bold statement on here before the season that this team would hit .330 (he first said .360 and then retracted), which is a full 15 points higher than last year. He was ridiculed given that we were losing our 3 best hitters. Fast forward and we are hitting a whopping .251 in SEC play. Cowtown was poking a little fun at cowbell9 by changing that number.

I agree we have not played our best first baseman at first yet, but he has pitched.

And I was possibly the most negative person on the board in preseason when I said I thought we'd bat .305. Of course, in our defense, none of us knew that Brandon Turner would be batting .235 in only 17 at bats now.

if we go on another miracle run, I can guarantee you that Polk will come out and say that he was letting Raffo call the shots.
