Not really answering your question but if the new coach would be in place for the bowl, it would be nice for him to get a jump on building relationships with guys considering the portal.

This season was bad, but I'll still take a bowl game over no bowl. IIRC, one of our bowl appearances during "the streak" was a 5 win season with a high APR - we didn't "deserve" it that year, either, but it kept the streak alive. Based on the Egg Bowl, I don't think our guys have "checked out."
