watching UGA v TCU in NC game, the UGA def front 7 stood out for how good they were for 1st and 2nd year players. it was clear that UGA had players on both sides of the ball from their 2021 and 2022 classes who were producing in the big game. I saw similar situation with Bama in their game vs KSU. This is total contrast to a team like Sparty who is taking 10-15 transfers per year.

While we are taking far fewer transfers the ones we took this year stood out a little more. We took a punter, and yet we recruited the top punter in the nation in the class of 2022. Most of us probably thought he would beat out Amor, and now we take a transfer punter. similar story with WRs, where we have transfer with multiple years left, but we have a very large room of WRs now. we also seem too be looking for transfer OL, but we now have a pretty sizeable room there

does that say some of our 1/2 year players who may have been 4* players from HS are misses? It looks like players who are not contributing with a solid role by year 2 need to hit the transfer portal. There appears to be no time for a player to develop. The very elite teams do seem to be recruiting players who can produce in year 1, even at OL and DL.

Where would you put Penn State? more toward elite teams or more toward the MSU, Nebraska, Illinois group? we do seem not be as dependent on transfers as these guys.

Georgias depth chart for the entire OL and DLine did not have a single starter from 2021/2022 class. All 3rd year players atleast. The 2 deep though did have 5 from 2021/2022 class.

the guys calling the game kept talking about all the Fr/So players who were on their starting front 7. #13, #88 came to mind as two guys they were calling FR (i.e. 2022 class). One of their OTs (I think he had to replace a player) was called a FR. Just going by the announcers who kept talking about all their starting players. I think the WR Smith (#11) was a 2nd year player. Heard same from radio guys on Bama game = all the fr/so players among their 2 deep and impacting games.

13 is a freshman and 88 a junior. WR 11 is a redshirt senior.
