New USFL reveals team names, cities, logos for 2022 season

The new United States Football League (USFL) is launching in the spring of 2022, and on Monday the league revealed the city affiliations, names and logos for the eight teams that will take the field in April.

Where are the Chicago Blitz, Arizona Wranglers, and Denver Gold teams?

I am kind a surprised they went with the Pittsburgh Maulers and the Houston Gamblers. Pittsburgh only lasted one season and was not an original team and Houston was not one of the original teams. Denver Gold, LA Express and the Oakland Invaders played all 3 seasons. If you added those 3 teams and removed Pittsburgh Maulers, Houston Gamblers, and Michigan Panthers (merged with Oakland for last season), you would have the original teams that played all 3 seasons. The locations don't really matter because I believe they are going to play the games at the same location.

I was a fan of the Stars back in the day because Penn State was one of their assigned colleges to draft from. Frank Case, Chuck Fusina, Tom Donovan, Scott Fitzkee, Roger Jackson, Dave Opfar, Matt Bradley, Rich D’Amico, Rich Donaldson, Ron Coder, Ron Crosby and Pete Kugler were Penn Staters who played for them.

I was a Stars fan because I knew the kicker’s parents through my church. David Trout also kicked for the Stillers before and after his time with the Stars. Trout had an interesting childhood as his parents were missionaries in Bolivia, and David ended up becoming a bush pilot in Mexico & Bolivia after his playing days were over.

This may seem to be a strange thing to say, but missionaries’ children always seem to have the most fascinating lives. They are fearless.
