I will first say I definitely like our recruiting for this upcoming cycle. I like the talent we are getting and the range of places it’s coming from and the other offers these kids have.
However, why does it feel like it’s 70% defensive line 20% offense line and a couple other guys. I know the trenches are critical but there much be 6-7 DL in this group. Any hot receivers or RBs? Line backers? Big time tight ends? Offensive tackles?

Not saying you’re being a Debbie downer but just trust the process. I’m sure the coaches know what is needed. I’m sure next year they’ll probably be a heavy emphasis on offensive playmakers but I like that we are focused on beefing up the OLine and DLine because that is where a lot of games are lost and won.

We have 8 or so players (approximate) who are draft eligible or out of eligibility after this year on the OL/DL.

We may not lose all, but a recruiting plan has to be in place.

I know OL and DL is always lacking. But at the same time if we are about to lose 8 linemen in this cycle then the lineman recruits to replace tbem
Should have been on campus last year honestly. Takes two years to get linemen ready to really contribute.
Anyhow. I’m glad the class rank looks really good. I guess I was just wondering is it line heavy becuase that’s what we want in those slots or because that’s who we can get right now and aren’t garnering the interest from skill spots? I don’t know. Just asking.

That's a very good question. Only Beamer and staff know the answer to that. One thing is apparent to me: Starting with the Muschamp era and through Beamer's first season here, we have not shown an offense that is appealing to recruits, an offense that is fun to play in. I hope that changes this season.

Games are won or lost on the los. True playmakers are needed too but I still believe in lineman and ol are the most difficult to evaluate. You need a big pool to see who develops. For goodness sakes, looking back at our shortcomings over the years I'd list the lack of quality SEC type ol as the biggest one we've had. I've lost count of the number of ol coaches that fans have screamed "Fire Him". They can't all have been that bad.

Do any of them reopen their recruiting if we look bad during the season? If the commitments don't see a quality product that looks like things are getting better will they start looking back at the other programs that were after them? Until they sign the LOI they aren't really "ours".

Let's hope they stick with us. But you better believe there'll be sharks in the water circling them and doing everything you can imagine to turn them.

We have commitments from 5 very good offensive linemen and 4 defensive linemen who are also good players. This is how championships are won - in the trenches.

Yeah, the skill position player are the flashy commits, but it all starts up front. Always.

Getting Nycholes Harbor would be a big one. Need to put on a show for him when he's in town this weekend.

If you have a good OL, you don’t need 5 star QB’s and RB’s.
