congratulations to Media Little League for winning the PA State Tournament rather convincingly. The teams that made the tournament were:

1. DuBois
2. West Point (Greensburg)
3. Mifflinsburg
4. Northern Lebanon (Fredericksburg)
5. Black Mountain National (Dallas)
6. Council Rock Newtown
7. East Side (West Chester)
8. Media

Media cruised though the winner's bracket, defeating West Point 9-0 in the opening round. They had a tougher time with Black Mountain, winning 4-3 in the semis. They then destroyed Northern Lebanon, 19-3, in the winner's bracket finals. East Side won the elimination bracket, so they met Media on Monday. East Side had to win that game to force a second game on Tuesday, while a Media win would give them the championship. Media won 12-1 to take the title.

They are now headed to the Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament, in Bristol, CT, for the chance to go to Williamsport. Joining them in the Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament are:

1. M-O-T LL (Middletown, DE)
2. Northwest Washington LL (Washington, D.C.)
3. Montgomery County LL (Bethesda, MD)

Competition starts this coming Sunday (Aug. 6), when Media takes on Montgomery County and M-O-T takes on Northwest Washington.

Best of luck to the PA champions, and all other state champions as they battle in their respective Region Tournaments for the chance to go to Williamsport for the LLWS.

I helped coach a lot of the boys from West Point this spring. They were loaded team and got crushed by media. Will be interesting to see how Media does!

As a Media resident, I had dinner in town last night. Every Wednesday during the summer the restaurants set up tables outside on State street. It’s called Dining Under The Stars and has been a huge success for years. With the beautiful weather it was really hopping. The team paraded up the middle of the street and was met with loud applause throughout. It was a fantastic evening.

Go Media!

Anyone have info on supposed new rule this for LLB that all 12 players must get an at bat?

Believe this is a good intention rule that could go astray.

My older brother taught at Springton Lake Middle School in the mid-80s. I recall him saying that Mike Schmidt's kids went to school there. Nice area!

You probably have seen this discussed already, but I am just catching up on a few threads here. Roster batting. If the roster is 12, then all 12 bat. If 13, then all 13 bat. I don't believe there is a minimum requirement to play in the field.

Continuous batting rule-all team players bat whether on the field playing or on the bench. Not sure if they still have rule requiring all players to play on the field or not as I haven't coached Little League in 20 years. Good Luck to all teams!

10 runs in the second woohoo.

I thought if they win tonight they’re in the LLWS. apparently not.

no, it just means that they win the Winner's bracket. Whichever team wins tonight will then play the winner of the Elimination bracket on Friday in the Mid-Atlantic Region Championship Game.

PA defeats D.C., 16-3. They'll play the winner of the Delaware - D.C. Elimination bracket winner on Friday at 3 pm for the opportunity to go to the LLWS.
