I was looking at next years prospects. There are no true Post players in the top 50. Not very many PF that are above 6'2" either. One thing there is a lot of is Wing players. My wish list for next year is Jasemine Davidson W from Portland, Sienna Betts, F from Denver and PG Aaliyah Chavez from Monterey TX.

If Dawn goes after a tall Power Forward or Post, my guess is it will come from the Portal. Boy this 2025 class is short on Tall Players.

Aside from the fact that it's wonderful we got Tac because I really like her game and she fits a need, it's very exciting that we got a player from Texas. That can hopefully open up a whole new area to recruit.
I believe Kelsey Bone was from Texas (Dawns first 5 star player). Then we got Littleton who transferred from Texas). 😎😎

Here's and example of what to expect.

From what I have seen she's pretty skilled and has some decent footwork. A year with Molly Binetti and she'll be nearly unstoppable.

What is the "tale of the tape" on this young woman?

Love her!!!! I was always excited about getting Milaysia but seeing her in person last weekend sealed the deal! She’s fantastic!

what are yalls guesses on the ‘24 recruit that he thinks is undervalued?
Prospect’s nation had Fulwiley ranked # 3 AND Chloe Kitts ranked #4. According to them our dream class would be
Edwards #4
Tac #6
McDaniel #10
Smith #13

They are not nearly as impressed with Tater commit Imari Berry #39 but in HoopGurlz #13. UT commit Kaniya Boyd is about the same 32 vs 34.

it is helpful to me to have several services to compare and contrast

She appears to be moving ok. Hopefully completely healed for a great senior season.

I am somewhat baffled as to why Tac dropped 21 spots in HoopGurlz. She missed the last half of her HS season and AAU summer ball.

There was no opportunity to evaluate, so her drop is solely based on injury. It seems to assume that she cannot rehab to be what she was pre injury.

Blanca Thomas had a very similar drop this summer. Her drop was based on her very poor performance in summer ball. At least they had performance to base that on.

My guess/hope is that Tac will get a 5th* and move up 10-15 by the end of the season

I was surprised by this, too. Ciera Toomey for the class of 2023 was injured and she was able to keep her 5-star, #4 ranking, so I was kind of surprised they would punish Tac and drop her from 5-star to 4-star and drop her down the rankings when they didn't do the same to Toomey? And I'm a bit surprised Thomas was able to keep her 5 stars after last summer? Oh, well.

At any rate, I think Tac could really surprise people. She has the potential to be the best center in this class (and maybe better than any center in the class above or below her, too).

I think Kate Koval, which you may consider a PF, is better than Tac because of her outside shot. If you are considering Koval a PF then yes, Tac is the best post player...I would love to see those two go head to head. Blanca Thomas is not on the same planet when comparing her to Koval or Tac.

Thomas plays for a private school in Charlotte and is only good in her league because of her height. She got owned when Charlotte Catholic and Camden played. Joyce Edwards 40pts. Blanca Thomas 9pts. Thank goodness we got Tac over Thomas. I will hold comment on Koval till I see her play a college game.

Yes as of now Koval is better but I was more referring to potential. Tac appears to be much quicker than Koval which could give her a bigger ceiling. Especially with our coaching staff working with her.

Go look again at the brief highlights film Gamekem posted.

Forget her athleticism, just watch her fundamentals. On the block, arms extended no real reach or swat. Textbook execution of a drop step( a move rarely attempted much less mastered by a HS Player) Hands up in perfect position to receive passes. Does not bring the ball down when she gets an offensive rebound.

74 out of the top 100 in the HoopGurlz class have committed. IMO the top 5 classes RIGHT NOW ARE

1 UCLA 14, 24, and 26
2 Texas #6, 7 and 42
3 UCONN #4 and 18
4 Michigan #11 and 15
5 Gamecocks #12 and 33

UConn and the Gamecocks have enough big fish out there to be #1

With Kennedy Smith and Joyce Edwards on board...we will be #1 for sure...or 1A if UCONN gets Sarah Strong. Can't beat that..

Desperation and “Look at me!” Ego. Reese has several times stated that she will coming back for the 24-25 season. I’m not sure I believe it.
Why not stay in school if the NIL income is better than the WNBA salary?

I don't get where this theory comes from. NIL is not limited to college. WNBA players with following and success make more money. Aliyah definitely has made more money as a pro then she did while as student with her endorsements.

The only thing that might hurt Angel is that the money might slow down if she doesn't perform well at the next level. So delaying her pro career or trying to improve her game before moving up might be for the best in her case.

Because her endorsements will likely follow her into the WNBA and she can get even more endorsements in the pros. A'ja is paid so well by her sponsorships that she doesn't even need to play overseas and we are already seeing that with Zia and Aliyah as they have opted to stay home as well during the off season.

Looks like LSU is getting the players to put out all the stops for the top recruits.

Why isn't this a NCAA recruiting violation? Kim Mulkey certainly could not comment on these prospects by name and encourage them to play with a player or for LSU. Should not her players be bound by the same types of rules?

I have been doing some digging and cannot locate the actual ncaa rule (will look more). But another NCAA school of note, Stanford, has internal polices that would indicate Reese's post would be a violation.

https://stanford_ftp.sidearmsports.com/custompages/Compliance/SocialMediaTipsheet.pdf

Excerpts:
All Stanford coaches, staff members, volunteers, student assistants, interns, and student-athletes represent Stanford and are subject to NCAA rules.
It is NOT permissible to comment on specific prospects, coaches, high schools or prospect facilities.  Impermissible tweet examples: “Loved watching the Menlo-Atherton QB tonight.” “The new Los Altos stadium is the best in the state.”

If a violation, LSU should be barred from further recruiting of these prospects.
