Please use this thread to discuss the PSU men's & women's X-country 2024 preseason, in-season, postseason (B1Gs & NCAAs), and then offseason news about the team, former players, etc.

If you're seeking info that was in the 2023 PSU X-Country thread, you can find it at:

In the women's race, it appears that two B1G newcomers took 1st & 2nd place (team wise). Oregon placed their 5 scorers as: 1, 2, 7, 11, 12 (for 33 points). Washington placed their 5 scorers as: 6, 9, 10, 17, 18 (for 60 points). On the other end of the spectrum, USC had a terrible performance. Their top runner (118) placed slower than any teams 5th place runner. USC's runners placed 118, 119, 120, 123, and 124, for 604 points. PSU took 4th, as their runners placed: 5, 22, 30, 36, 41, for 134 points. They were 1 points behind 3rd place Wisconsin, who placed 15, 26, 27, 31, 34, for 133 points. Flo Caron was PSU's top runner, placing 5th in the B1G Championships. (I think the times/places have been finalized.)

In the men's race, Wisconsin took the top spot. Their 5 placed 1, 7, 10, 13, 15, for 46 points. Washington took 2nd: 3, 6, 14, 16, 19, for 58 points. Oregon took 3rd: 4, 5, 9, 17, 23 for 58 points. (Ties are broken by head-to-head in the placers, and Washington had 3 of their runners placed ahead of Oregon's, so that's why Washington took 2nd.) PSU too 8th: 20, 48, 53, 60, 69, for 250 points. UCLA had a bit of a strange score, as they took 12th, but had the 2nd place finisher. I didn't realize that Maryland, USC, and Northwestern didn't field men's X-Country teams.

PSU appears to have a young team, as their place holders were (in order): soph, fresh, senior, soph, fresh
