Scott Sentes resigned as the head coach at Campbell @ 2 weeks ago. (He became the Executive Director of the Wrestlers in Business Network.)

When there is a head coaching change, the portal is opened for athletes on the respective team for 30 days. (I believe the 30-day window is expanded to 30 days from the time the new coach is official, so Campbell wrestlers have more than 30 days.)

In my defense, I knew of that provision and I checked the Camels‘ coaches page before posting, and Sentes is still listed. https://gocamels.com/sports/wrestling/coaches

Either I missed or forgot the news of his leaving.

The 30-day window starts the day after the original coach leaves. I'm not aware of any sort of extension once the new coach is picked, but based on how the NCAA operates these days, they'd probably allow it even if it's not officially on the books.

You can leave a school and go enroll anywhere you want outside the portal as long as you don't have contact with the staff. Once you enroll and attend a class the coach can then talk with you about wrestling and give you a scholarship. We saw this last year with a few guys

a former 3rd baseman for the Giants had some mental problems I went to a game in Pitts and the fans there just abused this guy so badly I was sick at how he was treated!

I'm not sure where to post. I'm not sure if posted.
Sammy Sasso was hired at Lehigh as a coach.

We don't really have a thread devoted to coaching moves. If it's a former PSU wrestler, it usually becomes a thread. Other than that, it usually ends up in the Social Media thread, or, in an Articles For ... thread (if there's a lot of news and I post such a thread). The Sasso info did get posted in the Social Media thread:

Just being a smart aleck for a minute. So is the thread where we discuss why we didn't recruit Sammy onto the coaching staff?😉
😏Laugh at that . For those unaware, about 6 years ago I took issue that Cael didn't go after Sammy much . The narrative was me against most of the posters. I remember the comments that Verk was better than Sammy or Sasso had character issues.
I moved on from that. PSU did fine without him. Sammy did good at Ohio St. We could of used his points the one year.🤨

Assuming the check bounced.
Lol. Most likely he had his 7th year denied. He's HS Class of 2019 and has wrestled attached in 6 years already. He got injured during a holiday tournament in 2022 and missed the rest of the year, theoretically could've gotten a medical shirt ... except for that pesky detail of having wrestled attached in 5 other years.

IIRC everyone saw his 7th year as highly unlikely, but what the hell, try anyway and let someone else (NCAA, B10, or school compliance) make that ruling.

With Alvarez out, Iowa loses 6.5 returning pts and is less likely to catch Nebraska for 2nd.

I mean, call me crazy, but 200 points in 2026 for PSU doesn't seem impossible.

66.5 for Iowa looks super low. How was it determined?

Ayala, Caliendo and Ferrari all can be top 3. They have 50 points amongst them.

174 cleared out, so Kennedy can also be a high AA.

Add in Peterson, Bailey, Williams and Kueter, who are all good AA candidates, I have Iowa closer to 100 than to 66.5.

Maybe you are accounting for the Iowa Room effect, which hit Parco, Teemer and Arnold last year?

Returning NCAA points. Ferrari returns none, and that's why he's listed in the "Not Included" column as a disclaimer.

Peterson 4
Ayala 19.5
Bailey 1.5
Williams 4
Caliendo 18
Kennedy 12.5
Arnold 1.5
Kueter 5.5
Total 66.5 returning points.

Keeping Arnold is generous since he's been dismissed from the team and probably wasn't starting anyway. But whatever.

PSU lost 3 3x+ AAs including the 5X champ, a 1x Champ and a Finalist. And we have 144 returning points. And we’re adding a world champ, and the top 2 p4p recruits (one of which would have to replace a point scorer).

Sometimes I just don’t understand why fans of other schools have a problem with us…..

Not sure he’s been surrounded by the best of people. It usually starts there. Chattanooga is what you get. AJ is another immediate example although his issues were more self inflicted. It’s a tough sport on everybody especially for the gifted.

Let's not forget that Chittum had to extract himself from Iowa, because he had peraonally dealt with the Ferraris before (at Blair).

Turns out he was right.
Hard to believe this kid has problems with anyone he hasn't been anywhere long enough lol but i get your point

Has anyone heard anything reliable about Cowboyhawkeyeroadrunnertarheelhusker Ferrari’s remaining eligibility? Nebraska has him listed as a Senior. Last year, CSU Bakersfield had him listed as a Redshirt Sophomore.

HS Class of 2020
2021 - Covid year
2022 - INJ
2023 - shirt
2024 - Olympic shirt
2025 - Bakersfield
2026 - Nebraska

He definitely can go in 2027.

Maybe can go in 2028, depends on if he wants and can get a medical shirt for his car wreck. He shouldn't get one, because of both his reckless behavior causing the injury and how late in the season it was. But NCAA has been throwing around medical shirts like candy in a parade, so who knows.
