I am looking forward to seeing the true-third match between Marcus and Hardy. If Marcus wins he will qualify for the U.S. National Team. Per USA Wrestling, "[t]he winner of each true-third match is eligible for U.S. National Team support that includes funding, plus training and competition opportunities." This would allow Marcus to train with the National team prior to the Senior World Championships in Croatia in September.

If Forrest wins his match against Vito or loses and decides not to take the U23 slot, Marcus would be eligible to compete at the U23 World Championships in Serbia in late October at 61 kg. Marcus is already qualified for U23 at 65 kg. And to add even more to Marcus' competition plate, he is also qualified to wrestle 61 kg. at the U20 World Championships in Bulgaria in August. It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds for Marcus the next few months. I'm sure the Penn State coaches will make sure he doesn't over extend himself.

I think everybody (all schools and athletes) wrestling in free style like they are is better for growing the sport than OKSt national duals. Better for NCAA in the long run too if most people can understand the style/rule differences.

There have been alot of match ups that are highly anticipated in folk that you will not see because of how the weight classes differ and I think that is great.

This truly has been a year of headlines for wrestling good and bad, the word seems to be getting out.

I'll take : Lee, Vito, McKenna, yianni,Messenbrink,Levi, Zahid,Snyder, Hendrickson. Most likely upset being Barr or Hidlay. Barr has improved at an incredible rate since spring of 2024 when he lost to Sinclair ( I believe it was) and I could absolutely see him pulling it out. Still think Hidlay has to much power and the pace won't be as big a factor as it can be for others. I also think Duke is more likely to beat Yianni than Jax is to beat Vito IF Vito is healthy. Healthy Vito is just better at freestyle than Yianni, in my opinion. Can't wait and hope I'm wrong on a few involving PSU guys

I'm not a fan of X allowing wrestlers to opt out of a competition date. No other wrestling event allows for a delay. In addition, Jax has no opportunity to delay for an injury. The champion already has a tremendous advantage by auto sitting in the finals. How much more advantage should that guy get?

Woods vs McKenna for me. Every thing else is spot on.

They had to go through it to get there.

I don't have an issue with Vito getting a bye to the finals, but to give him the added benefit of delaying the finals without the other guy being able to do the same seems a bit much.
Cornell has a history of doing this, I dont care for it either but it's not worth whining about because it went through a panel too. If physically needed it's a good thing. If it's a mental thing thats a different story he knew it was coming If hes not mentally prepared that's a Vito problem.
