This US U17 freestyle team is loaded. Iran and Russia are always tough at this level as well but I think the US has a great shot to win the team title. Keegan Bassett, Ariah Mills, Samuel Sanchez, Aaron Stewart, Gray Burnett, and of course Jayden James are total hammers. Besmer has really come on and Kikiniou is very good at free. The only 2 guys I’m not familiar with at all are at 92kg and 110kg. I usually overestimate the hardware our kids will bring home but I think this team definitely has a few champs

Looks like Mills (who made both teams) is only competing in free at worlds. Kikiniou also made both teams but it looks like he is doubling up.

2 guys wrestling for bronze (Rundell and Kikiniou)and 2 more can possibly get pulled into repechage. Seems about right and par for the course in regards to our usual greco results

I’m super excited for Morgan Turners final. She is wrestling Yu Kataoka from Japan. In the UWW write up it says that Kataoka has dominated domestically and is undefeated in her international career (won U17 Asians in both 2023 and 2024). Japan continues pumping out elite women and she is supposed to be next. Turner is a 2 time U17 medalist and one time champ though. Both girls have crushed everyone so far this tournament. Neither one has given up a single point. Should be a good one but I’m picking Turner
