Number 7 ECU just lost their series as well. Just a crazy weekend. 3, 4, 5, and 7 all lost series with number 8 Virginia having lost game 1 with games 2 and 3 still to go, and number 9 Stanford splitting the first 2 games.

Wonder if this would be the first time 6 top 10 teams lost a weekend series in the same week before if Virginia and Stanford don't win their games remaining.

With a sweep over number 3, and numbers 3, 4, and 5 all losing their series with at least 2 being sweeps, I'd be shocked if we are lower than 3 next week. Not that the ranking matters at all.
Of course, it's the final ranking which counts.

My guess is we'll be ranked #2 or possibly #1 since we did beat LSU in one game.

We may be the best team in the country. It's a great time to be a Carolina fan. Women's Basketball, Baseball and Football are all getting National attention. 'Bout damn time!!!

Unless Wake loses today, not a chance they get jumped. LSU won its series too so they aren't moving.

I think Monte Lee and Wingo have helped us tremendously. Pay Lee what u need to keep him on staff.
Agreed. He should be getting head coaching money. But if I'm Monte, I'm not going anywhere at least until these freshman, specifically Petry is here. I gotta think guys like that only come around once in a generation and what coach wouldnt want to coach guys like that right?. On the flip side, if Monte were to leave, we should all be concerned about guys leaving with him. Clearly Monte can develop major league ball players.
That said, I dont think Monte would leave like that but better to guard against it if we can. Pay the man. Keeping him happy here is a must and should be a top priority.

What do you think happened with him at Clemron?

My wild guess would be doners playing like they know all and that monte was supposed to be jackleg 2.0 to them and he didnā€™t abide by their BS. Also if they recruit baseball like they do football where ā€œeveryone is all inā€ including the cops when their is trouble to cover up, then maybe Monte wasnā€™t interested in that nonsense which led to issue with my first point. Doners trying to run the show.

That is one tough question. I couldnt put myself in their shoes and even begin to understand what they were thinking.
Here's what I'd like to believe. Monte was unhappy there and it showed. In fact maybe he was unhappy being a head coach at a major university and all the duties involved in being one because it took away from actually coaching which is why he got in the business to begin with. Maybe he's learned a valuable lesson and will forever be content to be out of the spotlight with far less responsibility while being closer to the players he coaches.
Yeah, I'll go with that. šŸ˜‰

Not positive about this, but I heard he was wanting some facility upgrades and didnā€™t get them, that kind of put the writing on the wall!

Donā€™t look now but Tennessee is getting their swagger back

I would think that an HC would be more involved in coaching at the D-II and D-III levels.

I would think that would be absolutely right. Cant really say I know how much time a D1 coach actually spends with his players but I can say i know all other divisions spend a ton.
