3 major factors that have us where we are

1. Loss of Ellis Johnson
2. Loss of our top olineman and our top corner
3. The three years that it took Croom and co. to figure out recruiting (and this makes no. 2 that much more felt). I just hope that the new revelation in how to recruit isn't overridden by a horrible season, causing all of these new star recruits to head for the hills. Its a continuous downhill slide with us.

3. That is the thing I noticed last night also. We were not a superior team to LaTEch talent wise. We have a few better skill players. However, they seemed to have as much speed as we did. Their DL blew up our OL when they had to. Their OL controled the LOS down the stretch. They broke tackles and made tackles when they had to. We certainly didn't out muscle them on offense or smother them with size and speed on defense.

We desperately need a big, badass LB and more linemen in this next recruiting class.

on the O-Line. And we haven't really done anything to shore it up lately. We need to be signing about 5 OL a year or else no offense is going to work.

our weak point were the Oline and special teams. They are much better in special teams (that results from good coaching). We had better athletes overall and a good coach, who prepared his team, would have demonstrated that fact more decisively. Our turnovers (bad passing downfield, muffed punts) indicate lack of concentration and poor preparation.
