apparently brown and wesley actually shot at a car on campus. the other three are suspended due to conspiring to hide the weapons. all five will have disciplinary hearings with brown and wesley being permanantly expelled. the other other 3(johnson, prince, and hughes) may not be expelled but the likelihood of any of them playing next year will be slim.

if those guys aren't dismissed from the university, they'll miss no more than 1 game.

I firmly stand by my theory that Scott Field was built on top of an ancient Indian mound, and we have been cursed since.

Let's not limit ourselves to just Scott Field. I'm beginning to believe archaeologists could survey the whole campus and find who knows what. There'd definitely be a hot spot just beneath the Bryan Building. This whole Raffo thing makes me want to vomit. No one in the country wants the guy, his production in the area of the team in which he coaches has been pitiful for years now, and we've got a lame duck coach and AD wetting themselves to make him head coach. It's times like these you wonder wtf were you thinking when you became a State fan. Way too much punishment for very little pleasant times.

If one of your college buddies asked you to hide a weapon that you knew the buddy had fired without actually shooting anyone, how many of you would do it? I would.

First off, it is time for Byrne to step up and say <17> you guys. What you guys are doing is not working at all and I am not going to start my career handcuffed by your ignorant *** decisions. I doing **** my way now. LT get the hell out of my office.

Second, MSU is suffering the effects of location. Starkville has the small educated, middle class portion of town and then there is the large, under educated, close to poverty portion of town. We recruit a lot of kids from small, low income, southern towns and when they get to MSU they naturally gravitate to this side of town as there is nothing else to do in Starkville. I mean come on, they were shooting at the guy in the Budweiser car? That is redneck gangster all the way. I live in Memphis and I don't see gangsters getting commercial sponsors. I can see the news clip "I would shot his *** more, but the Budweiser-John Deer Impala was not running real strong." MSU should start a satellite campus in Jackson near the Madison-Reservoir area with the intentions of growing the campus to the main campus in 20 years and get the hell out of Starkville. The Starkville location can remain the agriculture and wildlife campus.

I would find new friends. Fast.

Too much at stake for these guys to be doing stupid **** like this. They've not only thrown away their potential football careers, but they've thrown away a free education, and maybe the rest of their lives. For what? Effing ridiculous.

I'd tell my friend that he can be a dumbass all he wants to, but don't get me involved in it. Then, as Costanza said, I'd go find some new friends.

that would. Does that really change how croom or the law treats them?

is the curse of Alyn McKeen. He had us winning around 8 games a year, which was really impressive considering that they only played 10 a year then, but ever since he left, well we know.

that we had two consecutive football coaches on our campus that coached a total of 3 years, both of which went on to win NC's at other schools. Murray Warmath, who left State for Minnesota in 1954 and coached there 18 years and won the NC in 1960. Warmath was followed by a guy named Darrell Royal who stayed two years and went 6-4 both years. He then went to Washington for one year, then on to Texas for the next 20, winning 3 NC's.

Both of those old geezers are still alive, too. Warmath is 95, Royal is 83.

fired guns at moving cars. If they did I wouldn't be their buddy much longer. I might have been afraid not to hide it...but that would be the only way I would.

He has run out of opportunities with Croom.

As for the other two, I will be surprised if AJ gets kicked off the team, he is pretty damn special at CB.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on here. Starkville is not nearly as bad as you make it sound, and they shot at the guy on campus. What does the hood have to do with it?

.....during the course of one year, but they're just a blip on the radar over a long course of time, then I think the Indian Mound Theory is solid. Having one winning season in football every 7 years, or one CWS trip every 10 is not something to brag about.

If they were, they'd have announced all 5 dismissals at the same time. I suspect the reason we haven't heard about the other 3 yet is either a) a decision hasn't been reached or b) they're suspended but Croom doesn't want to announce the suspensions.

Hiding a gun for someone? If you find yourself at that point, that's a great time to take a step back an examine your entire life. Some serious **** has gone wrong without you paying attention.

I have heard things varying from the mundane to the "earth-shattering," but I do think it's interesting that most of the people who usually know things, aren't talking. I bet we get a presser tomorrow at either 11:00 or 1:30.

Would a real friend ask you to hide a gun they used to shoot at someone on campus when it could potentially get you involved in the legalities of this situation and possibly ruin your scholarship situation?

No, I wouldn't hide the gun for the guy. If one of my friends asked me to do that I would no longer consider that person a friend. Brown and Welsey made their own mistake. Getting their buddies involved was really irresponsible of them.

Brown & Wesley showed they are basically incapable (currently) of anything resembling responsibility. To expect them to think of the well being of their friends & teammates after they just shot at someone is a huge stretch.

What's the big deal? I've wanted to shoot at those stupid advertisement cars everytime I've seen them. Why didn't they shoot at the Blockbuster one though? Does those idiots actually get paid to drive around in those cars or what?

The guy that drives the budweiser car lived next door to me in the Cotton District a couple of years ago. He was there for about four months before Dan finally kicked him out for never paying rent. We're about 99% positive that he was selling weed out of the house as well since he'd have random people show up at all hours of the day. Occasionally they'd mistake his townhouse for mine and come knocking on my door. I can't count how many times I'd open the door to find some random guy just standing there asking for "the stuff". Of course, I'd kindly point him to the next door over.
