I understand rooting against SEC teams from an emotional standpoint, but SEC teams doing well after getting 14 bids is probably important to how SEC teams are treated by the committee next year.Who cares, we're not going to the sweet sixteen, I'm rooting against every SEC team.
So we're out next season based on our performance...got it. ***I understand rooting against SEC teams from an emotional standpoint, but SEC teams doing well after getting 14 bids is probably important to how SEC teams are treated by the committee next year.
coaching. How in the hell did we beat OM twice?
We handled him and them with a team so many say suckedGood Grief.....where did Ole Miss get this Dia guy? I'm not sure I even heard his name during the 2 games vs MSU. This guy is an absolute stud. If this is the way he plays.....I'd take him as a lottery pick in the NBA. How in the hell did we beat OM twice?
Okay, then how did we lose to both the squatters and the whorns? Asking for a friend.****coaching
Our team was good, just not great. Had we not faltered down the stretch I think we would have played a more manageable opponent than Baylor. I still want to sign Jans to a longer term contract as I said about mid-season. I think he's as good of a coach we can get to Starkvegas provided he wants to stay. He'll just need to pick up a couple plug & play forward/center type studs who can hit the 3 somewhat reliably. I love Cam, but he could not stretch the D outward by not being able to gun some 3's. We have to fix that at his position next year. Plus, we could use a true point guard at least 6'2" or taller and is cat quick along with long range shooting. Do that and I think we'll be right back in busineess and probably a more dangerous team.We handled him and them with a team so many say sucked

I blame the fansOkay, then how did we lose to both the squatters and the whorns? Asking for a friend.****
The team did suck. They literally lost the entirety of the back half of the season. We handled him and them with a team so many say sucked

If we exchange our current players for future NBA players in our positions of need, we'll be better next year. I agree with this too. **Our team was good, just not great. Yeah grandma and grandpa not showing up for those mid week night games sunk us in the end since they bring so much to the table and cheer so much when they are there. But that just means more chicken nuggets and chocolate chip cookies for the ones that do show up and go to the VIP area**I blame the fans
2 time SEC All-Defensive team selection. It's good the Cam era is ending. He's a feel good story but he's not a winning player in this era. He was born too late.
Would have been great in the 80's or 90's. The game has passed players with his skill set by.
If you can't shoot over 33% from three (especially on wide open looks from the corner) then you better be 6'10'' plus and rebound and play D because otherwise you're a net negative.
What’s our record in tournament games and conference tourney games with him on the team? I know it’s 0-3 in the big dance.2 time SEC All-Defensive team selection.
Game has passed him by.
Brilliant.**
Yep you got me, I dont watch basketball. Good one.**What’s our record in tournament games and conference tourney games with him on the team? I know it’s 0-3 in the big dance.
You could have just said, “I don’t watch basketball and check box scores or read articles.”
The dude can’t shoot. Period. It’s a jump shooting game now. If he’s your second best player you aren’t going anywhere, as evidenced by our track record.
We are 6-5 in the SEC tournament and 0-3 in the Big Dance with a SF that defenses can sag off and not guard beyond the paint. Maybe our guards shoot better and get more open looks if we don't have a non shooting threat out on the wing. Maybe our post players get more one-on-one post touches. If Cam was 6'10", sure he'd be really valuable. But you can't win with a wing player that defenses can completely ignore outside. This isn't rocket science. As a team we made 31.4% of shots from deep, and Cam took like 3% of those. That bad shooting is on everyone else.
Hubbard took over 9 3s each game and made only 34.5% of em. He barely cracked 40% shooting overall. That bad shooting isnt on Cam.
Harris didnt even make 40% of his shots overall and made 34% of his 3pt attempts. That bad shooting isnt on Cam.
Kugel was at 43.3% overall and 33.3% from deep. Once again, that bad shooting isnt on Cam,
Melendez made 28% of his 3pt shots and yet he took 3.5 per game. That bad shooting isnt on Cam.
Jones Jr was a copy of Melendez in both ways. That bad shooting isnt on Cam.
Maybe blame our 5 guards for only shooting 32.7% from deep and 41.7% overall as a group.
