Football is won/lost in the trenches, it is just as true now as it was 100 years ago. On Offense your 5 OL has to beat their 4 DL or it doesn’t matter who your QB,WR, or RB’s are. Same on Defense, your 4DL has to beat their 5 OL or it really doesn’t matter who your LB’s or DB’s are. It doesn’t matter what the scheme is either offensive or defensive.
MSU doesn’t even have decent JUCO talent/coaching on their OL-DL. You have to get this fixed first. This is where you prioritize your NIL and your assistant coaches $$$. You have to get this fixed first. Both position groups were basically ignored by Leach, Arnett and Lebby.
This is where you start the rebuild. Hire a proven OL coach, not a coach that was fired by UPIG. Hire a proven DL coach that loves recruiting. Even with NIL, you still have to be able to recruit, motivate and coach.
