the basketball triathlon begins for South Carolina. I think South Carolina will have to play some zone. I do not think they can play man to man defense all the time. Also Dibba and Ugusuk will have to have to plus minutes.

Good point. I just hope tonight isn't another white-knuckle affair since we would have a short turnaround to play the one team that really humiliated us this season. If we win.

In Arkansauce first nine conference games, they went 2-7 and then the second half of conference season the Razorbacks posted a 4-5 record in which demonstrates they are a better team now compared to how they performed in January. Would not be surprised if it is a close game this afternoon, but South Carolina has advantage in that they won more road conference games than conference home games and has the clutch aces Cooper and Mack to hit some crucial shots.

True. 2 of those wins, though, were against Missouri and UGA, who were fellow bottom-feeders. Only 1 of those 4 wins was on the road.

This is a game we SHOULD win, but we haven't really put anyone away this season, aside from GW and Florida A&M.

I doubt South Carolina will hammer Arkansauce and I think that is rot realistic to expect that. Arkansauce went to Tuscaloosa less than a week ago and all most beat the Tide if was not for a stupid clumpy dunk attempt (THAT FREAKING CAUSED SOUTH CAROLINA A DOUBLE BYE) that could have given the Razorbacks a big win.

Not realistic to hope we will hammer then. I don't think it's unrealistic to hope a game that is in-hand with 5 or so minutes to go in the game. Note, I said hope, not expect.

A little concerned with the big comeback last night vs Vandy. There is some momentum they are riding, but I do think having to go to OT and re-winning the game was a lot of physical and mental drain. Hoping that works in our favor.

Again, this is a triathlon. I could see South Carolina getting a double digit lead then put five guys on the floor that looks shaky and watch the lead slowly dwindle. Coach Paris has to think about tomorrow also. You might even see the Belguim lawyer (he should have received SEC academic player award) play today South Carolina dos have some double digits wins in the conference this season. Three of those double digit wins was away from Colonial Life Arena.

I hope they brought their shoulder-chip with them to Nashville. There's still a legacy of SECT faceplants that they can use for motivation.

Tough start. Arkansas dictated play early on, but we started to settle in. Zone D delivered once again to help us close out the half. Nothing but bricks from deep so far.

Good win by the Gamecocks! Tied their program record for wins in a season, with more games to play.......

Auburn on a neutral court and hopefully they won’t shoot lights out like they did against us last time. I do think we will need some guards to shoot lights out to win, but we have done it before so it is definitely possible. Go Cocks. I hope Auburn comes in thinking we are all hype because of the way they beat us last time. That would definitely play to our advantage. I’m sure LP has something ready for them. I hope it works.

Missed a lot of FT's as well
Not trying to drag any of the kids through the mud and find humorous that one of the kids shoot two free throws and missed both but was allowed to shoot a third as a result of a lane violation and ended up missing that one too. On the very next possession he attempts a three point shot and missed. I was thinking if miss three straight free throws then why would you try a three?

I still have high confidence in him shooting threes, but today was not his day shooting the ball three feet or more from the basket.

Number 30 scored 30 percent of South Carolina's point total today.

Is it too late to revise my predictions of wins this year?
South Carolina had no where to go but up from last season. Last season started as a train wreck especially what happened in Charleston. I did see improvement in February to give me hope that Coach Paris is the guy and should have a better season 2023-24. I will be honest though, I thought South Carolina's ceiling would be a 9-9 conference so what happened this season is just astonishing.

The team has played pretty well four games in a row. If we play like this or better from here on our, I have legitimate Sweet 16 visions

Yep, we will have a decent seed no matter what happens but really would like a win tomorrow to drop Auburn a peg or 2.

Today was big. You don't want to go 0-1 in the conference tournament.

So, here's the question. Since our seeding in the big dance is probably a done deal, if you don't win the conference tournament, do you really want to play 4 games in 4 days, perhaps just 4 days before you tip-off in the NCAA tournament? If you tip-off on Friday, it's not so bad, but some games are going to start on Thursday at noon. That feels like a fast turnaround after 4 tiring days.

Of course, I'm not suggesting that we'd ever not try to win a game, but at this point, it just seems like you go out there and have fun without stressing over the SECT. There are worse things than having an extra day or two to rest up for the tournament that matters.

Agreed. Don't want to take your eye off the big prize.

I thought we were an 8 win team for the entire year. So glad to be completely clueless.

I agree with the why play 4 games, except… winners play to win. We’ll have several days off to get ready for the Dance. You play the game, any game, to win. Winning the conference tournament could definitely improve our seed.
