8 team playoff - based on the first 11 games

2. Alabama
3. Ohio St
4. Cincinnati
5. Michigan
6. Notre Dame
7. Oklahoma St
8. Baylor or Oregon?

To me, this looks like a great playoff scenario with a mix of standard powerhouses and a couple of teams that would usually never sniff a 4 team playoff. This will change, of course, with the last two weeks of play still to come.

Really don't like the idea of a team surviving a tough game and then going up against a team that rested up with a bye. Seems inconsistent with amateur athletics (and yes I realize.....)

I kind of see your point but there should be some kind of reward (bye) for the teams that navigate their way through a 12 game season and become the conference champs or the highest poll rankings. In other words: Earn it through the season.
