While his boys were putting the wood to Iowa, Nolf won his opener over Kardanov (Russia) 12-1 at the Yarygin. Josh Shields up next for Nolf in a bit. Snyder should be up soon. For some reason, Gilman didn’t travel, although he was registered.

Nolf and Shields must've met for a pizza somewhere on Route 22 and decided to go to Siberia to wrestle each other.

Do you know where there is a bout list so I can tell what mats the U.S. matches will be on?

(From NLWC) Over the weekend, NLWC wrestlers Jason Nolf (74 kg) and Kyle Snyder (97 kg) had outstanding performances at Russia's Ivan Yariguin Grand Prix, one of the toughest tournaments in the world!

Kyle scored three straight wins by technical fall to reach the finals. In the gold medal match, Kyle fought back from an early 0-3 deficit to win 8-3 over Shamil Musaev, a 2017 Junior World champion and 2019 U23 World silver medalist from Russia.

Jason looked outstanding in winning four straight matches to earn a spot in the finals. He had two technical falls, one pin, and one decision. In the semifinals, Jason pinned 2021 Senior World Bronze medalist Timur Bizhoev of Russia. In the finals, he dropped a hard-fought decision to 2021 U23 World Champion, Cherman Valiev.

Of all the great wrestlers at PSU Nolf is my favorite. He was just so technical, gritty and hard nosed, just loved to watch him wrestle.
One of the reasons Nolf was /is my favorite PSU wrestler was because he always looked like he just stepped out of a chemistry class, placed his lab coat aside and donned his singlet. From the looks of him you thought he might lose any match he was in. Surprise! 😬. Not long and lengthy nor muscular and stocky - just an ordinary build. Fearless. High scoring. What a treat to watch.
