I did this out of curiosity and because someone earlier asked if we were still the best conference. Obviously my predictions are just that, predictions, but I think they're realistic. And, if they hold true and we go 6-4 with a fourth straight National Championship (by three different teams) then I think that yes, we are. I'm not quite sure why I added the WAC, to be honest, but the Mountain West is interesting. I think they'll finish 5-0 with a team undefeated, which will only strengthen their argument for a playoff system. On the other hand, the Pac 10 looks pretty bad, and I was pretty surprised at how Ohio State manhandled Oregon tonight. Thoughts? note: edited to fix spacing

you can bet on the SEC always having a fairly average bowl record, simply because our tie-ins are so much better than everyone else.

Therefore, especially when we have 2 teams in the BCS, which will be almost every year, our match ups won't always be that favorable.

Throwing in the Gator Bowl now will make it even worse. The Gator, Cotton, Outback, and Peach will get some combination of teams 3-6 out of the SEC, and it'll be teams 4-7 when we have 2 in the BCS.

So, for instance, you will see a Peach Bowl where our 7th or 6th best team will face the 3rd best team from the ACC. Or you'll see the 5th best ACC team against the 8th best SEC team in the Music City Bowl. And our 10th or 11th best team (if eligible) will face No. 5 from the Big East in the Pizza Bowl. The Cotton even is currently the Big 12 2nd or 3rd pick, sometimes against the 4th or 5th pick from the SEC.

The MWC is always near the top of that bowl challenge cup thing because they are one of the most underrated and least respected conferences out there. The SEC is so respected, that the tie ins put us at a disadvantage on the field sometimes.

You're absolutely right. That's why I think having a 6-4 record is impressive, especially considering teams like Kentucky and Tennessee aren't that good and the teams they played were.

If we do ever have something like an 8-2 bowl record, it means the SEC is really dominant.
