A question: Do you believe that the 2025 Gamecock football team will be better than we were last year?

We lost a LOT on defense, our hammer at RB, and the 3 interior OL?

Normally I'd say we would take a big step back, but with NIL and rebuilding each year for us and each opponent? Who knows.

If I had to wager, we lose another game or two this year.

Better team overall? Maybe
Better record? Doubtful. I think this year’s schedule, at least on paper, is more difficult than last year.

Other than a questionable VT team replacing a patsy, isn't it the exact same schedule? (Barring patsies)

Yes, but road trips to A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, and Missouri concern me.

Understand. Just got a chuckle. It's basically the same schedule!

But seriously, I get it, flip home games and some go the other way.

After 40 years as a Gamecock, what can you say? I'm hopeful while also being pessimistic. Brutal 2nd half of the schedule... but we said that last year.

This year's success rests firmly on the shoulders of Sellers - at least on offense (the OL has underperformed forever and will continue to do so). We lost a TON on defense as well. So we'll see if we rebuild or reload there.

Hard to think we'd win 10 this year, tho. Let's get bowl eligible before November, please, so we can start the discussions of who'll sit out (or if we make the playoffs).

M opinion it will be contingent on fielding an effective, play making running back. Our backs usually put out only the basics and have no interest in going beyond that (case in point Rico Dowdle and what’s his name that went to SoCal.) We will miss Rocket Sanders in that regard.

Our mercs vs their mercs. Probably not much different result this year. Only reason to think we could do better (maybe add a win) is Sellers. The "hammer" at RB was only a starter for one season. Maybe we'll get another one who'll opt out of the bowl game.

Probably not, but in the age of NIL and the transfer portal, I suspect every fanbase in the SEC, save 2 or 3, is asking the same question about their team. In the same way we have no reason to expect the same team one season to the next, neither do our opponents. Somebody, rightfully, listed 4 tough road games at A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, and Mizzou earlier. I guarantee you every one of those fanbases are wondering what they will have next year too.

Depends on if we get screwed by the refs in the LSU game and serve up the Bama game on a silver platter! Some teams are going to get better some worse, Clemson looks to be better! I think we'll be better at receiver, but no way our D is better, so who knows!

Better receiver corp, will miss Rocket but Faison is the real deal. Fuller, Howell and Addaway give us a solid stable. LS a year under belt as starter. D could take a step back.

So the answer is maybe, maybe not😂

Has Faison been cleared? Last I heard he is ineligible.

We have a fairly high octane set of wr’s and the return team has speed. I’m all in on the season, and cannot wait for kickoffs !

On paper, we have a lot of ifs.

IF Sellers is as good as he's projected to be. His absolute best tape last year was on plays that broke down or had him insanely breaking tackles in the back field and scrambling for big gains. His best tape was not of him throwing the ball, so we'll see how that has developed.

IF a RB1 emerges.

IF a WR1 emerges.

IF our D is able to compensate for all the losses.
