On this date in 2011 after 46 seasons as Penn State’s head football coach and a record 409 victories, Joe Paterno was fired.
…was fired by 11.9/11 home-growth BOT terrorists…that will someday, maybe the day they meet their maker, be held accountable…On this date in 2011 after 46 seasons as Penn State’s head football coach and a record 409 victories, Joe Paterno was fired.
Led by Corbett, laughing while being in The TavernAnd there still is much rejoicing in the halls of the bot.
Light up the cigars and pour the brandy.
Sure, we moved on but when someone screws you (in this case JoePa and the Penn State Brand), you don't dwell on it, but you NEVER forget.Haven’t you guys all moved on yet?
wish in one hand, crap in the other, see which one gets filled fasterPut me in the camp of wishing that Joe had retired earlier, turned the program over to an up-and-comer, had the field surface named after him, and rode off into the sunset as a legend.
Yeah I can understand that sentiment. Nonetheless, the way his firing was handled was utter horsesh-t.Put me in the camp of wishing that Joe had retired earlier, turned the program over to an up-and-comer, had the field surface named after him, and rode off into the sunset as a legend.

Moved on from what? It's a fact....Joe was fired on this date in 2011. Moving on doesn't change the date pal.Haven’t you guys all moved on yet?
'I told them to do it." One TermLed by Corbett, laughing while being in The Tavern
piss on your campsite.Put me in the camp of wishing that Joe had retired earlier, turned the program over to an up-and-comer, had the field surface named after him, and rode off into the sunset as a legend.
Not in this lifetime.Haven’t you guys all moved on yet?
Why? Joe was everything that Penn State presents itself to be and no one, no one exceeds his devotion, spirit, enthusiasm, investment, loyalty (but I ramble on) and commitment to EDUCATION in my lifetime of knowing the people of Penn State. Read his address to the BOT after the national championship, watch his address to the THON dancers, revisit the Library donation, his idea of a 'stipend' long before NIL took root. Joe was just a football coach. Yeah, right.Haven’t you guys all moved on yet?
. . . and Sue is just a housewife in a bandana. Yeah, right. I truly believe she and the family are trying to carry on Joe's legacy because PSU is not filling that role. Why? I know this is said in a joking way but honestly, I’ve moved on. I haven’t forgotten, but I’ve moved on. It sucked, it was infuriating and pretty damn consuming when it all happened but I have moved on from it. Much like the death of my parents or 9/11, I continue to move on with my life. It still angers me but it doesn’t consume me.Haven’t you guys all moved on yet?
If it was stuck at 4:09….True story less than 8 hours after he was gone my PSU clock fell off the wall by itself and smashed to the floor.
Thank you for acknowledging the sarcasm in my post. Maybe the emoji didn’t register with everyone? Anyway, I’ve been a Nittany Lion since 1984 and will be a Nittany Lion for the remainder of my life, regardless of how frustrated I am by the inconsistencies on the field or how the entire Nittany Nation was thrown under the bus by the BOT (and PSU administration). Like you I, too, am angry at how the entire Sandusky debacle was handled but am optimistic that Penn State will, one day, regain the reputation that was so blatantly stolen from it.I know this is said in a joking way but honestly, I’ve moved on. As was the case 11 years ago, Joe absolutely deserved to be fired. Nothing has changed on that front.
Eat feces. As was the case 11 years ago, Joe absolutely deserved to be fired. Nothing has changed on that front.
Hey Joyner, I think you're confusing Jay with a bunch of golf players.Shoot, even Jay Paterno has moved on.
He, of course, hasn't moved on to being a football coach at some place outside of Penn State. He CAN'T do that because he has absolutely no talent as a football coach. But he has moved on ---- to being a paid shill for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Really? As was the case 11 years ago, Joe absolutely deserved to be fired. Nothing has changed on that front.
You know how everyone says that JoePa should have gone to the police. Well, shouldn't have McQueary, his Dad and the doctor friend have gone to the police? Yet, McQueary gets a huge settlement. As was the case 11 years ago, Joe absolutely deserved to be fired. Nothing has changed on that front.
Possibly the worst excuse for a human being in the history of Pennsylvania politics- a history that's full of miserable excuses.Led by Corbett, laughing while being in The Tavern
Wow - a "new" member. As was the case 11 years ago, Joe absolutely deserved to be fired. Nothing has changed on that front.
