This makes me giggle.

This fall, the ACC will begin airing football and basketball events on the CW Network, a new addition to the league's Saturday broadcast schedule.

The CW has secured the rights to 50 ACC games, beginning Sept. 9 with Pitt's football game against Cincinnati. Thirteen ACC football games will air Saturdays on the CW, which will broadcast 28 ACC men's and women's basketball games throughout December, January and February. The ACC will have men's basketball doubleheaders on the CW every Saturday, and women's basketball doubleheaders on Sunday afternoons.

  • Raycom Sports, which sublicences ACC events from ESPN, sold its rights to the CW but will continue producing them. The CW has not aired college sports events but is the exclusive home for LIV Golf. The network is best known for broadcast series, including "All-American," which focuses on college football players in the Los Angeles area.

"We are thrilled to be adding The CW to our weekly television lineup for ACC football and basketball games," ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said in a statement. "The CW's national distribution will directly benefit our student-athletes, teams, alumni and fans. We appreciate ESPN and Raycom working together and look forward to the partnership with The CW."

The ACC in July 2016 agreed to a 20-year media rights agreement with ESPN that runs through the 2035-36 academic year. Some league members have expressed frustration with the long-term agreement, as the ACC significantly trails the SEC and Big Ten in revenue. Phillips has vowed to be creative in seeking solutions to create greater revenue.

Whew !
ACC sold the rights to Disney/ESPN.
Disney/ESPN sold the rights to Raycom (as part of the media deal).
Raycom sold the rights to FSN/Bally/Diamond Sports.
Diamond Sports filed for bankruptcy and the rights reverted to Raycom.
Raycom sells the rights again...to the CW.

After this new development, anyone who still believes that there are not going to be at minimum 2 or as many as 4 schools that bolt to a new conference from the ACC (way before 2037)at one time is only fooling themselves.
It is going to happen, sooner than most think. BELIEVE IT.

We will all be in a 40-50 team league by 2037. I would put a lot of money in that.

CW exist today because Nexstar bought 75% of the network at a fire sale price. CW viewership had tanked, advertising dollars were drying up, and they had cancelled most of their scripted shows to save money. I think CW may be trying to reinvent itself to hang on. LIV golf opened a door in sports, but it hasn't been a ratings bonanza. It's too soon to know where it goes for CW.

The ACC games to be shown will be those passed over by ESPN. They still get to choose first.

Hence my remark above. There's a neediness on both sides.

The games shown on the SECN aren't exactly riveting matchups. I don't think there has ever been any sort of conflict between ESPN, ABC, CBS, Fox or NBC with the SECN over what games will be shown. CW can't do any worse than what they are doing with the stuff on there now.

"comprehended"
You need to study more deeply.

From Merriam-Webster

Apprehend - verb

1 - : ARREST, SEIZE
apprehend a thief

2 - a : to become aware of : PERCEIVE
She immediately apprehended the problem.

b : to anticipate especially with anxiety, dread, or fear

3 : to grasp with the understanding : recognize the meaning of
intransitive verb

: UNDERSTAND, GRASP
Hence: "It wasn't APPREHENDED the first time".

Generally the first listing, whether it be the pronunciation or definition, is the preferred usage.

That is generally the most common usage. The preferred usage is at the discretion of the person speaking or writing, so long as it is a correct usage. I appreciate people who are conversant in all proper uses of a particular word. As I stated above, this was instilled in me by the man who raised me. If someone wants to demean that (not you in this instance), it says more about that person than it does about me or the man who raised me.

My attention span has just divorced me.

I don't think I get the CW. It's a "sub-channel" of WIS. What does that even mean?
I think it is a digital channel that is associated with another channel. WIS is channel 10, probably 10.1 on a digital tuner. CW might be 10.2 or something like that.

Apparently CW network is attempting to become more serious in broadcasting CFB. They have offered the Pac-12 a broadcasting deal
that would include but not limited to Tuesday and Wednesday night games.
No word if the PAC-12 would entertain this proposal.

You know, they just might be desperate enough to do that.
