After last night, is Carroll or Lee your starting QB?

I'll start by asking, what the hell was that last night? Exactly one year ago, Croom leaves Henig in the season opener until he sets records by throwing his sixth interception at some point in the third quarter. This year, Carroll makes a couple bad throws and he gets yanked before half time. I'll be glad to admit that Carroll made some poor decisions last night, but I don't see how a QB carousel is going to help anything at all.

I have never been a fan of a two QB system and one of the very few that ever got a team anywhere consisted of a senior Heisman Trophy candidate and a future Heisman Trophy winner at Florida.

So... I'm going to throw my vote in by saying that you've got to give Carroll the job and leave him in. Much like the rest of the team, I thought that he actually looked very good last night other than just a few bonehead decisions. Those decisions killed us, but he's got to learn from that. If we had an all-american waiting in the wings, I could see some sort of rotation, but I didn't see Lee as being a huge step up and I think that you have let WC play.

If Croom starts Lee against SELA, I will immediately change my position and jump on the bandwagon with all you anticroomites.

I really didn't think he showed anything at all last night, but he somehow managed to be quietly efficient (although it was just a bunch of short passes). I really think that Carroll is the guy who has potential to be a good QB, but he's got to quit making so many boneheaded plays. I don't fault him for the first interception, but the second one should have been a 20+ yard gain for us and the third one was a pass that should have never been thrown. As bad as our special teams played (and as much as our offensive playcalling sucked), if Carroll doesn't make those two mistakes, we probably still win the game.</p>

however dumbshit Crooms does not fall into this category. It's amazing the shitastic teams out there that have a fully functional athlete that's over 6' playing QB.

But Crooms will stick by his man. His little man.

.....in my mind is does it matter? My most optimistic view of this seson was that we'd go 6-6, which inlcuded a win over La. Tech. Now I think we've assured ourselves of a losing season. My opinion is bolstered by the fact that the coaching staff continues to look like they have no clue. I believe they simply got lucky in several games last year that could/should have been losses. As they say, the sun shines on a dog's *** some days.

If someone had offered me a 7-5 season before we played a game this year, I would have taken it and run. After last night, I really don't know that I see 6 wins. My bet is on 5 right now.

However, being that Wesley is still just a sophomore and we have no legitimate alternative other than Lee, I think that it will mean a lot for the next couple seasons. Inconsistency at the QB position has killed us during the Croom era and I don't see this rotation as something that's going to help at all. Lee did a decent job but he's not the future of this program, so I think you have to let Lee make his mistakes, even if it means sacrificing a game or two this year.
