MNF has been searching for the right combination. I think Buck is OK and I don't mind Aikman either. I wonder who the new #1 team will be at Fox.

Let the Buck bashing begin!

MNF has been trying for a while now to find the right combo. I like 2 in the booth better than 3.And these guys are a massive improvement.
Griese was leaving for a QB coaching gig, right? Louis Riddick, whom I like as a studio guy but not in the booth looks to be trying for an NFL admin. position. And I never liked Steve Levy.

I wonder if they'll still put the Manning brothers up against Buck and Troy?
LOL. I tried watching that but its was way to "bro" centric for me. I think the Mannings are funny, just not as funny as they think they are.

I agree and Buck does a good job with football with Aikman. It's his baseball broadcasts that make me want to stick sharp objects in my ears.

It depends on the game for me. If the game is out of hand or is two crappy teams, I tune in for the entertainment. Otherwise, I'll watch the regular MNF broadcast.

ESPN should get Joe Tesatorre and Rob Riggle. Think Dodgeball on steroids.

I have heard Kevin Burkhart will take Buck's role, and Burkhart is pretty good. Not sure who they will pair with him--it is currently Greg Olsen, IIRC. Or maybe they try to hire Sean Payton or lure Tom Brady out of retirement (just kidding on that one). I'm glad to see that Joe Buck will be off of baseball.

Plus it is going to be a milestone for ESPN to have the first all gay broadcasting team on MNF.

Speaking of luring out of retirement, what happened to Jason Witten's broadcast career?

I truly don't understand these huge dollar contracts for announcers. in all my years of watching sports, I have never once turned a game on or off because of who was announcing it. I even suck it up and watch Penn State games when we get stuck with Pam Oliver, Beth Mowins, or Matt Millen! All these big signings will do is increase my cable bill. I just don't get it. I watch the game because of who is playing, not who is announcing.

I listen to records. Once you learn the ref's hand signals there's no need for any audio coming from a football game.

Yeah, I think this is a great move for ESPN. I never really understood the Buck bashing.

Did you watch Jason Witten in the booth. Yikes...

He was Cristian Driver's head coach this past year. And for the record, they didn't have a good season.

Tony Romo is the best. I watch whatever game that guy is calling each week just to hear him for 3 hours. Very entertaining and informative. Very good NFL QB, but he found his calling in the booth.
I have really grown very tired of Romo. Every third word is "Jim". Or, "here we go!".

Tony - you are talking to millions of people, don't communicate like you are having a one on one discussion with Jim Nantz.

I can see that. It seems to me that they guy is genuinely excited about calling a game and since he's not an announcer at heart, doesn't know how to contain it. Ha. His knowledge and authenticity are what keeps me coming back. Just seems like a guy that really enjoys his job. Maybe some communications charm school in the off-season, but not too text book.
