Sub $5k, new or used, 8’ will fit. Happy to install new felt and bumpers on an old table and I would love advice on these 2 things also.
Cheers.

1) Brunswick
2) Antique Brunswick if possible - and sub $500, not $5K.
3) 3/4" slate
4) Suck it up and go on FB - not to show a picture of your smoked pork shoulder, but to go on marketplace and find all the pissed off ex-wives wanting tables out of their garages.
5) Look for a 4x8. In between a bar table and a pool hall table

I got one for $200 and turned it into an outdoor table w/ Sunbrella cloth. Felt is MUCH easier to work with than Sunbrella. Always replace the cushions, pockets, etc.

I was fire at pool. Geometry, y’know. I’ll stay retired.
I want you Jim! At night when you're playing you can hear the ocean or the Allman Brothers. But not both.

I run a little weekly thing in the winter w/ old golf bum friends of mine. Funny who shows up sometimes. Oh, I'm on tap w/ Yuengling - I think that has something to do with it.

That's an old picture. I've since rebuilt it (because I let it sit in the sun and the rain covered only occasionally). The rails are all re-stained and covered in marine varnish and the Sunbrella is now more Aqua.

If anyone wants a pool table and doesn't have the space, where there's a will there's a way.

Make sure to get soft felt for the table, so it does not cause burns to her backside. It's important to be a gentlemen in these situations.
I've never had any complaints about burns. There have been few instances where that would come up lately, but all ok.

The first sunbrella - in the pic - was so fast and so tight at times it was like Seminole or Oakmont on the stimp meter. I go to replace it and thought I was getting the same product in a different color, but it was a micron or two thicker. So it was harder to install and isn't as fast, which I'm ok with. The new stuff plays closer to an indoor table. Light cues and soft tips help.

i seriously doubt "soft tips" would be of any help.

According to the latest studies, 78.6% of home tables were poorly installed, with out of level and inadequate room around the table being the top two problems and excessive distance from the beer fridge a close third.

Get one you can do this with.

I actually use a Roomba on my table once in awhile. Funny to watch (the cat loves it) but a leaf blower and a good brush does better. I also pressure clean it on sunny days sometimes (from a distance). Makes it look like new, and once the sun shrinks it, it's fast. I usually put on new spots after this.

Not for basements though. Heh...

look at a Diamond table with Simonis cloth and Aramith balls. The Diamond is now pretty much the standard for competitive pool. Brunswick Crown series would be my second choice
