Lived in Flower mound for a short stint in the early 90s. Not sure I’d recognize it with how it’s grown, but that area (Lewisville/Flower Mound) was nice and conveniently located for flying out of DFW if she travels a lot.

My daughter is moving to North Dallas.

Thoughts on the area?
What part? I lived in Lewisville for a few years and liked it but its growing so fast its now almost part of Dallas.
Denton is a nice area.
The Grapevine area is very trendy and nice but is blowing up or has blown up. Close to DFW Airport.
And I would avoid the Frisco/Plano area. Its a nightmare with how fast its growing.

The Lewisville/Flower Mound area is still very nice yea but yea it's booming.
One of the bars (Ok it was the only one for a long time) That I used to frequent is still around. The Point After, probably going on 35+ years.

Is that still a thing? It was just kind of getting off the ground when I was there in the 80's.
I was there a couple of years ago before covid and it was great -- new construction, young people everywhere, restaurants and its near the city.

Good to know. I think the last time I was there was around 2015 and it was nice.

My son, a recent grad, just moved to his new apt in McKinney. Any thoughts from the AKB about that area? I’ll be down to visit him in September. Need a place to watch the Delaware game.

I was there around 91-92 and in 5th grade, so I didn't frequent the bars as much I do now! Played a year of pee-wee football there, was pretty intense. Half the team quit before the 1st game because of how brutal the coach was, we only had 12 players left for the season (went undefeated and outscored opponents about 350-20, so worth it I guess?). I think I've told this story before, but same league where we had to try out and there was a draft for the Lewisville football association league. One old coach asked me if I'd played before, I said yes, 2 years. He asked where and I told him Pennsylvania. In full seriousness, he said "I don't want any damn yankees on my team" and moved on to the next kid.

Had a old high school buddy that lived there before being transferred. Got a chance to visit twice and I absolutely love the place. Buddy is moving back when he retires in a few years.

She’s actually in “North Dallas” around Royal Oaks Country Club along 75 just north of downtown.

Moving her today and got a blowout on the Uhaul in the middle of nowhere NM.

I live on the border of Westlake and Keller TX and keep an office in Ft Worth while not close to North Dallas I have several golf buddies who live in the Frisco area and love it. For young professionals the north Dallas corridor is an excellent place to live and play.It has everything you could want and is generally safe. Too many restaurants to name and a very lively night life. If you want an urban environment then head to Uptown Dallas ….Deep Ellum and the area around the “M streets”. I tend to spend more time in Ft Worth Tarrant County area including (Southlake….Grapevine area where my three daughters live.Love living in DFW.

check the web site of the North Texas chapter of the PSAA. They have TV viewing parties for PSU football games. In 2022, they moved them to a new location:

Chill
2513 S Stemmons Fwy
Lewisville, TX

They've not yet posted on their web site if they'll be meeting there for viewing parties in 2023.

Thanks Tom, I was aware of that. Was hoping that someone from that chapter was on this thread and knew of an updated location, if it had changed at all. I’m also aware that the game is on Peacock. Hoping that the bar/restaurant is aware of this and streaming the game is not some type of copyright issue.

I can personally vouch for the greatness that is The North Texas Alumni Group. Excellent leadership and very well run. Games are super fun.
