What's his status as a draft prospect? Is he going to get drafted?

1. Best of luck to you
2. That said, this seems like a really poor decision
3. Our thin WR room just got thinner

I swear these guys get some really bad information when it comes to the draft. We have had some players over the years leave to go to the draft and can't even make the team. Listening to the wrong people

He wasn’t going to get the waiver bc he graduated in 2019. The waiver only applies to those who graduated this year and inside the 5 year window
That shlt is the most confusing thing ever. Can someone explain it in the simplest way possible?

You get the waiver if you exhausted your eligibility within a 5 year period ending with the 2024 season but you have played for a non-ncaa entity that used up one of those years.

HS grads in 2020 and college grads in 2024

i think
So what's special about those guys? It can't still be COVID, right? Or is it that they didn't know about NIL in 2020? Either way shouldn't this apply to Akharaiyi? His eligibility looks just like Pavia's.

Why is he "declaring for the 2025 draft" then if he's done? I admit, I don't know how it works but if he's declaring it sounds like there was question, was that what you meant that he was going to get denied?

That said he had 391 yds last season and 2 TDs in 11 games. Good luck...........

I don't think it's covid but the ruling on JUCO players is that if the player was from the class of 2019 or before, they can't gain extra eligibility becuase the 5 year window for players still stands. 2020-2024.

Pavia graduated HS in 2020, Kelly A in 2019

Good luck to Kelly, but we haven't had a receiver drafted since Moulds in 96. We've had several guys (Polk, Bumphis, Ross to name a few) over the past 30ish years I would consider more talented who couldn't cut it so I'm not sure I love his chances.

There should be no such thing as "declaring for the draft."

It should be like in baseball, where a team can draft anyone who is eligible to be drafted, and they probably have some private conversations with players or their representatives to know if they want to come out, but a player shouldn't have to make some kind of formal decision before they know if they are actually drafted or not.

Good luck and just remember.......when you do that Monday Night NFL starters promo, be sure to say "Mississippi State" and not "Tyler Community College." Later bro'.
